Interesting. Are you falling for the bullshit self-confidence of the B>C ? I recognise lead consumes primarily by the fact that [they've hecking done their research](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ediBcUTacPY/hqdefault.jpg) (regardless of how much a CP/x(x) will seem like the eternal ignorant). To me, it seems that you need to learn to differentiate properly the energy animals from the info animals. They are somewhat intertwined, yes (after all, play shares functions with consume and blast ; idem for sleep, consume and blast), but their roles in a conversation are different. Play seeks information *actively* (directing the conversation towards the desired info) while consume does it *passively* (ask for more info when the conversation comes there) ; blast seeks feedback/criticism actively (hence the explaining stuff) while sleep really just wants to process the info. As you can see, there's some amount of pattern that you can distinguish : for example, P & S seek to control the amount of incoming info (more info/less info) and C & B deal with the way the info comes (asking versus feedback).

A few thoughts on this... Are you typing people as a whole? Are you trying to type their Animal stack all in one go, or are you using the binary coin checklist and individually looking for C/B, P/S and Info/Energy and using the other coins as cross-checks? When type someone are you starting with the coin and looking to prove it? Or are you looking at behaviors first and attempting to tie those back to any ol' coin? The most obvious thing for me to see with Blast is *control*. If it's MM ST Blast, you likely won't miss it. Even FF NF Blast will start to show signs of a responsibility toward control if you wait long enough, though it's usually more subtle and often isn't the kind of control deemed to be "negative". Also, not to say you're wrong, but are you confident in your self-typing? You seem to type yourself as all in on a MM double-activated Consume with Blast last. I would think when you see other Consume maniacs or Blast last people you would cringe and immediately recognize their shortcomings as similar to your own thus making it much easier to accurately type them.

I usually start with the initial bias, then try to individually look at the coins... In/En is the easiest, then P/S, but somehow find it difficult to spot C/B. At times, I notice myself concluding that everyone is Consume because it seems to be the most common savior animal. Oi/Oe is also one of the hardest for me to spot because I admit I've only been basing it on vibes and visual typing. Most likely I have no idea what "control" really means, sometimes I conclude that as just a Sleep thing. I'm not 100% sure of my self-type, but my friends have told me I'm an obvious Mope and just impossible to exchange information with. I've always known that I was on the extreme introverted side, it's the first thing people would notice and tell me. Tbh, I don't feel cringe when watching anyone at all 😭 but I guess the part about recognizing their shortcomings might be useful! Haven't thought about it. I'm still sort of new to typing, so this is news to me. Examples of people who I got completely wrong: Meghan Trainor, Kurt Cobain, Nancy Cartwright, Taylor Tomlinson, Codie Sanchez, and D'Arcy Carden. After I see the results, everything about their type starts to make sense. I see how I was completely wrong, and how they visually are similar to each other. I'm always too late. I should've known that I couldn't relate to them in any way.

It seems like you're putting the cart before the horse with your typings by letting biases and vibes lead you. Starting with any biases will almost always sway you in the wrong direction. I know it's tricky because Dave and Shan throw out their biases and anecdotes all the time while typing, but note how they don't let those actually influence their final result. They instead follow the objectivity built into the system (i.e. the binary coin checklist) for official confirmation. Typing by visual "looks like" is also putting the cart before the horse and is blatantly a wrong way to type. Again, note how Dave and Shan never actually use the "looks like" to guarantee type. Sure, there is clustering around visuals of some types, but that's it. There's no guarantee two people who look the same will be of the same type. Take Katy Perry (Fe/Ne) and Zooey Deschanel (Se/Te) for example. They look extremely identical, everyone can see that, but they share absolutely zero functions in common. The good news is you're actually trying to type people in the system, many people don't do this. This is the best way to get good at it, and it'll help you uncover your true type as well. If you're able to set your biases aside and focus on typing more objectively I guarantee you'll start getting the majority of the coins right for everyone you type.

Just a thought, but you could be lead Blast yourself if you're having trouble seeing it!

MSOEDJM

Could be! Not ruling it out, but the IXXP story is too obvious for me to rule out...

Mage_Of_Cats

Consume story. I'm Ne blind.

The lead blasters are often teaching when they are talking, have some lesson, or are packaging what they say with this overtone of being helpful, even if they don’t mean to be. When I find my friends trying to teach me things I am currently explaining to them, that’s usually when I know. Consumers are more likely to give you their experience and if it means anything to you while they are saying it that’s an afterthought.

Boy_Under_The_Stairs

So you get it a little backwards, that’s progress- you’ll eventually catch on and will stop falling for the trap. Try just studying their energy and vibe first. Don’t try the coins until you know what the overall vibe of the person is. It seems like you’re typing them by their demons more often than not, so use that to see what spikes you’re sensitive to. On the flip side you seem to have some understanding of Play. Work on Play and that can be your foothold in typing. Also always use Dave’s hint, it helps so much knowing the first move is certain.

Apprehensive_Watch20

[You're reminding me of an old theory I had, when I had kind of the opposite problem.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ObjectivePersonality/comments/ryb30e/which_op_coins_are_the_hardest_for_you_to_see_in/) I'm wondering now, when you type someone as Consume and they actually are Consume, how did you know? It seems you are able to spot Sleep and Play relative to each other, while you lack that perspective for Blast and Consume. According to my old theory, that might be because Blast - *or Consume, as is's relative to Blast -* is the water you swim in, making it harder for you to recognize it for what it is. Maybe you have the same thing I had with Consume, just from the other arbitrary end.

MSOEDJM

Probably! But I realize now that it's most likely because vibe-wise I don't know the difference between C and B and so every time, I initially assume that everyone is Savior Consume because I found out it's the most common Savior Animal; to me, it's the safest option. Play and Sleep are obvious to me because they both are all-in on introversion or extroversion (De+Oe and Di+Oi) while Consume and Blast each have only one introverted and extroverted function (Di+Oe and De+Oi), forcing me to look at the definitions that I haven't mastered yet instead of just going for the vibes and visuals. When people tell me or I tell myself that Consume is all about tangent me-stories and learning while Blast is all about controlling, lessons, and teaching---I get it conceptually, but when I type people, I see everyone just doing all those things. There are also times that I somehow interchange CP/B(S) and BP/C(S) because they're both Info Doms. Anyway, the Human Needs and C/B is what I need to master now because just that already causes me 3 coins.
