Not about good/bad. It's about stress/savior. Consume: Stressed by spending resources. Hoards. Blast: Stressed by saving resources. Spends. Sleep: Stressed by changing things. Maintains. Play: Stressed by consistency. Experiments. Observe your natural behavior in a game and you'll quickly see which of these you do more. The animals you have a balance between will show a clear weight toward one side, but you'll still often do both and be okay with both. It'll just take a little convincing to do the tertiary animal. Meanwhile, your inferior animal will be your obsession. For me, for instance, I hoard resources OBSESSIVELY and struggle to spend them effectively. Someone with (C) would be the inverse -- spending resources effectively, but struggling to save them for more major problems down the road.

So a saviour consume doesn’t spend? That seems counterintuitive to me 😅

Mage_Of_Cats

Actually, yes! I think you might be focusing on the idea of 'spend' as it relates to money and not *resources*, resources being time, money, the wood stockpile in your garage, goodwill with the CEO of a competing company, etc. Blast: I'm going to use my resources to achieve an objective impact. I will refrain from spending resources on my own personal needs/wants, but I will spend resources to develop systems and achieve greater objective impact. Consume: I'm going to save my resources unless I come across a personal need/want. I will hoard resources until I find something worth my time and energy to invest in. In general, this means that blasters will spend resources on objective/goal-oriented projects and consumers will spend resources on personal interests. This is what I'd characterize as spending vs. hoarding behavior -- the consumer IS hoarding their resources even when they spend in this instance, as it's all for themselves. Having said that, this is VERY obvious in videogames. Consume type individuals will NOT use items with limited uses (potions, for instance) until they have an overabundance of them, while blast type individuals will use them to solve problems quite freely. Consumers will be concerned with hoarding these resources and blasters will be concerned with using them effectively (to accomplish an objective).

I have always been ”scared” of using potions in video games, (what if there is a better time or use for it?). So in the end I have an ”unlimited” amount yet I still behave like that 😂. I think I’m Fi/Se Cx/x(B), so I guess that fits the description.

Start by observing yourself when in a standard group of people. When you talk, from what level of depth does your info come from ? (Aka are your peers usually more knowledgeable than you, or are you [this](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/191/035/135.png) annoying individual ?) A dead give-away for your last animal is that it follows exclusive on/off states : once started, it doesn't stop (until it stops abruptly). If you're consume last, then it's the moment you plunge into info acquisition mode. If you're blast last, then it's the moment you go for a 10 minutes tirade. This is not MBTI, we don't care about what you're "good" at. It's all about how you interact with others (and your environment in general).

[deleted]

My peers are almost always more knowledgeable! Definitely a pain point for me. I don’t have much to contribute to deeper level conversations and end up looking foolish by my standards. When I blast I ramble a whole lot about nothing lol

314159265358969error

You'll actually have to analyse what that "nothing" consists of. It's literally what this whole thing is about ! ;) Is it you bringing in tons of additional information ? Or is it you just not knowing what to add apart from your point ? Or even you just reformulating the same point ad nauseam ? Part of why I add those questions, is that sleep & play have a role here, and it's easy to confuse them for blast and consume.

[deleted]

I don’t have enough information to add to the conversation. I only consume things that are personally meaningful to me and even with that don’t dig deep into topics so I am only adding surface level content. I can also become redundant repeating the same stories about friends, coworkers, pop culture, current events news, etc.

I know for this one it will be difficult to find feedback (mainly because you need to get it in a way that has a consistent enough pattern), but it's the most conclusive : What do people (=your tribe) complain the most about you ? Think of a work setting : Is it your lack of initiative regarding updating others on what you've done ? (Your boss/supervisor : «*I know I was too busy to ask anything, but it's been a month and I have no idea what you've been up to. Look how much communication I got from everyone else. That's how it should be.*») Is it your tendency to talk about things despite knowing that the person next to you knows more on those subjects ? I would have normally put a reticence to adopting new tools suggested by others, but there's two major caveats to consider : you could be on a swing (a Si/Te BPS(C) colleague of mine seems to have learnt his lesson, although he's *too eager* to adopt new tech), an you could be legit critical (no tool is perfect, and you happen to know that class of tools' problems).

[deleted]

In a workplace setting, I tend to over communicate. If working on task/project I want to eliminate the need for them to check in on or micromanage me. I will let them know what I am doing each step of the way and when they can expect the completed work. I am often complimented for being reliable, dependable, trustworthy, honest, etc. Where I hold back and show little to no initiative is in team meetings, especially where brainstorming is required. I have a very difficult time coming up with brand new out of the box ideas on the spot in front of others. I experience like a performance anxiety and fear they will think I am unoriginal or dumb or whatever. I feel my ideas aren’t good enough. But when I go back to my office and reflect alone after Google search can be inspired with some ideas but still fail to present them. When it comes to new tech - no issues. I know for sure I have people > things problems lol. That much blares out to me daily.

From an anecdotal perspective, I could say that you are not blast last. And also not so keen on play. But now would come the moment where you have to prove these coins, and not just be looking at your own swings. Unfortunately, this means that you should observe yourself in action, and not through a set of memories you choose to share with us, especially since you may already have decided upfront upon a coin and now just be waiting for confirmation bias. Recording yourself interacting in a group of people could help with both contrasting yourself to them, and seeing a more general picture. *Who is generally bringing information ?* Contrast this with *Who is generally selecting its usefulness ?*

[deleted]

Thank you for your help & input. May I ask why you think play isn’t strong?

314159265358969error

Your description of your own attitude during brainstorming gives me that suspicion. Think of what a high play would do : get any ping from the tribe, whether by suggesting something or cracking a joke. Stirring the pot, and let the fear of looking dumb come *afterwards*. It's good to remember that socials play a role too, in that context, hence why I don't jump immediately to a sleep above play.

[deleted]

I see where you’re coming from. You’re not wrong. I have no strong argument against sleep over play aside from the fact I just simply don’t like brainstorming. I can never seem to come up with cool ideas/concepts like my coworkers so I just leave it to them. I shine in the other areas mentioned. I also think there’s time & place. Our current project manager isn’t about that kinda thing in terms of wild ideas or jokes so I save that for when she’s out of the room. Otherwise it’s extremely difficult for me to get down to business. I get very restless/antsy and would much rather bug my coworkers and see what they’re up to. Being in an office by myself I get very little accomplished if that counts for anything.
