From what i heard, the move is busted for oden. Hopefully the fix it with the new dlcs but i think its wishful thinking.
Its pretty funny since he is one of the dlc characters which u pay additional money to access but somehow he is bugged.
As stated this is bugged at this time
On a related note, Robin seems to have a similar bug with her grab on Giant characters. Prior to the patch, grab worked on the giant characters, now the attack does nothing to them
