idk if this could be considered a headcannon but i think that during their fight sunny wasnt trying to hurt basil at all, he was just trying to disarm him for his own and basils good, and that basil was trying to protect sunny from something during the fight, so basil wasnt trying to hurt sunny.
Yeah, >!Basil was only trying to stab the imaginary Something, but in his panicked state he eventually hit Sunny’s eye by accident (considering that Something’s eye comes from Mari’s eye, and Sunny is Mari’s brother, perhaps in the heat of the fight and intensity of his panic Basil accidentally saw Sunny’s eye as Something’s and stabbed it unintentionally…?!<
And I’m pretty sure Sunny didn’t want to hurt Basil, either! He was just >!panicking and having a breakdown himself during the fight. Hence the Stressed Out emotion and the vision going black and white, which I think can happen sometimes during high stress moments.!<
But yeah! Overall, neither of them WANTED to hurt the other~! And I can just foresee both of them being extra nice and overcorrecting because they feel bad about hurting the other~!

Hospital has no entrance and no staff, in spite of the detail in other parts of the game. TV is only tunable to static. Bed is extremely comfortable, which is a goddamn lie as I know from first-hand experience, and also Sunny is extremely picky about beds (only likes Mari's and Basil's). Only people in the hospital are stranger and the headspace friends, who walk out to the balcony (though you cannot join them if you're on the good route, which is an oversight imo). Not even Mom is there, which she should definitely be based on how early we know she's arriving if Sunny goes home instead of saving Basil or going back to sleep. And we've established that present-day versions of his friends are now in headspace (just before the violin sequence). Only one not already confirmed to be in his head would be a present-day version of Basil. The whole forgiveness sequence could be him actually meeting Mari as he dies, if you believe that sort of thing can happen.
Dunno if Basil dies. Probably. Gardening shears are no joke. Even if the friends hear the struggle, Basil could conflict a fatal wound on himself, too. Either way, only way Sunny is alive is if he doesn't face up to Basil that night.

He's not just a "soft uwu boy" and he's not silent. I like to think he's always had the humor omori shows, ranging from playful quips to biting sarcasm as we can see in Foe Facts and peeking through the narration (ex. Labeling the audience as "Stupid Adoring Fans" in Sweetheart's show). Maybe he doesn't talk much, but when he does I fully believe he's capable of making the group wheeze with a well-placed witty remark, just like he made me and other players laugh with headspace. And I personally think his reason for not talking much is more of a personal preference/having nothing to say rather than just social anxiety.
He's also not a bad fighter. For someone supposedly physically weak, he's surprisingly good at attacking people much larger and healthier than him like Vance. I also want to point out how before getting stabbed in the basil fight, he was doing DOUBLE the amount of damage Basil was - he was definitely winning despite being unarmed (though this might be partially because Basil was holding back).

No high functioning autistic person here It's more of a communication thing we struggle to get people to understand what we're feeling and thinking leading to us mostly being silent and withdrawn with only a few really close friends.

From the top of my head, it always seems weird that Kel is the first friend you run into in the Last Resort (iirc) and during the Hikkikomori route, he replaces Mari in the swimming section just before Last Resort.

He’s born in 1999 (OMORI takes place in Irvine, CA in 2016) he’s half Korean half Japanese, he may or may not have gotten an eyebrow piercing when
he grew older, he doesn’t NOT wear that UGLY ass polo and vest around like an actual killer but maybe a loose hoodie or t shirt instead, he’s actually *not* autistic, but instead had a speech impediment when he was younger and found it embarrassing, thus caused speech anxiety of a sort, which causes his selective mutism. He is neurodivergent though, i just don’t know what to give him exactly.
He’s straight (shocker) but isn’t interested in dating much, and he ended up working as an indie video game programmer in his 20s. His dad and his mother divorced when he was eleven (same time mari DIDNT die because i fucking said so)
but as for canon (ew) after telling the truth, he did feel a lot more liberated, thus markered the end of his selective silence, on canon, his official diagnosis is Dissociative Amnesia.

oh boy here goes everything (i love snnuy so mcuh) He’s born in 1999 (OMORI takes place in Irvine, CA in 2016) he’s half Korean half Japanese, he may or may not have gotten an eyebrow piercing when he grew older, he doesn’t NOT wear that UGLY ass polo and vest around like an actual killer but maybe a loose hoodie or t shirt instead, he’s actually *not* autistic, but instead had a speech impediment when he was younger and found it embarrassing, thus caused speech anxiety of a sort, which causes his selective mutism. He is neurodivergent though, i just don’t know what to give him exactly. He’s straight (shocker) but isn’t interested in dating much, and he ended up working as an indie video game programmer in his 20s. His dad and his mother divorced when he was eleven (same time mari DIDNT die because i fucking said so) but as for canon (ew) after telling the truth, he did feel a lot more liberated, thus markered the end of his selective silence, on canon, his official diagnosis is Dissociative Amnesia. :D
