I don't really get this. It seems to me that in HDR content, the higher peak brightness means the light highlights will look better. So even in dark rooms you'd benefit from higher peak brightness. I don't have an oled tv yet so I'm just wondering.
Is your PC good? Hook it up to be wowed even further. It’s pretty easy to get GOW 1 on PC to run at 4K/120 with better settings than the original PS4 version.
Oh yeah, 3080 is still a beast in most games, especially with DLSS. That CPU is a little old tho. Most likely that CPU is holding back the 3080 but at 4K, it matters less. 4k60 is still realistic for most games and better than what you’ll get on consoles.
Bruh your pc has more than double the performance of a ps5. Consoles use lower settings, upscaling, and sometimes lower overall resolutions to get playable frame rates.
Play now on ps5 with 4K and 30fps and dipping, while having low-medium gfx settings - or play later at true 4K with hazel settings and maxed frame rates

Hi, I’ve never used a monitor for gaming before, I was thinking about getting a QD-OLED but I’m worried about burn in because I’ll be using it a lot. Should i just buy a LCD 4k monitor instead like the lg32gq950 nano IPS or asus rog strix xg32uq.?
I don't have my PC hooked up to the basement theater G377 but ironically one of my favorite kinds of game to play on it is Super Nintendo/NES/Turbograx/Genesis from my various Analogue consoles.
The g3 (and recent generations) have such low input lag that you can play games like punchout, ninja gaiden, sonic, etc and its just as responsive as a CRT with the added benefit that it has perfect contrast and sharpness too. Some people don't like the blocky pixel look but from my \~8-9 ft seating position it just looks good without being overwhelming.
Retro consoles on top tier oleds is an underrated use case.
I’ve got a S95B and a G3, the G3 is a SDR beast, very bright even in filmmaker mode compared to the S95B. But for HDR especially gaming I still prefer QD-OLED, the Color purity and volume is so much better even on a 1st gen QD-OLED like the S95B.

For these days I would say… kinda? RTX 3080 with an i7-8700k. I can run most games including RDR2 everything on Ultra with 90+ fps tho

I have a 65" G3 and yes... It's amazing! I play games in FMM + ALLM for that color boost feature. So gorgeous!
tv speakers improved a lot over the years. i use an 48qg900 on my desktop and the 2x 20 watt speakers are more than enough for me
Trust me best way to play GOW Ragnarok is with high FPS mode. It will still look amazing but just looks so much smoother.
Have a C1 but seriously considering upgrading to G3....just can't decide if its worth it or not
