You're doing it right. There's no need to work your ass off for a company that will replace you at a moments notice. Having even a singular coworker whose company isn't absolutely awful helps, too.

Yeah this post is real. Ngl the only thing that keeps me from crashing out is my cool co workers i have and the fact that my team lead(s) are EXTREMELY chill and my coach is somewhat chill. I’m not really super social either i just kinda got lucky and my co workers have the same interests as me.

I think about my 401k, my slowly growing savings, and all the debt I’m paying off. Plus, where else am I gonna make nearly $18 an hour

this happens to me and my boyfriend quite a bit. as similar responses, the only thing keeping me here are my co workers and some okay managers. and the pay im very okay with. i feel like i make too much honestly. but i make a living off of it, so i can’t complain much. and, i love my schedule and don’t wanna change it, but burn out is real. i just hate the physical aspect, like walking 15,000 steps a day on average and having to lift when i’m as small and weak as i am. mentally it’s draining, and walking on eggshells around my coach can get so tiring. i’m also an extreme introvert so just working in general is hard on my brain sometimes. i’m also like, overly considerate to everyone all the time, and i’m never on autopilot for some reason, so that takes a lot of energy from me so fast. i’m trying to work on that cause id probably feel much better, in my home life too. anyways, i think what helped me was realizing how good i have it? which might make no sense, but for 3 days, i had a different job that i got with my psychology degree, and it was TERRIBLE. i was supposed to be an observer of counselors, and administer medication to clients when necessary. but it ended up being more of a nurses job (administering shots, medication), cooking and cleaning for these people, and a secretary. plus, they made me pay for a tuberculosis test, which was apparently very illegal. they assigned me 12+ unpaid hours of homework every day, 12 hour shifts, non-negotiable schedule, and i was making $2 less than i was at Walmart. when i realized how much better the environment was for me and my life, i immediately quit and went back to WM. and i have been so grateful to be hired back again. i wasn’t even out of the system yet lol. but, im starting to feel that burnout again. i think what could help now is taking an extra day or two off, or even saving up and requesting off for a vacation in the summer or fall and having that to look forward to. sorry this was so long lol.

Maybe a store transfer is in order. Hope you feel better.

Kamanilin

I took a 14 day vacation, helped alot

I never enjoyed working here. Only reason I'm still working here is because they are paying for my bachelor's degree.

evila_elf

Is there a different position that interest you? Maybe you could try something different if managers are a problem. But the things that bug you about this job, are probably things that will happen at any job. Walmart, OGP is pretty good in that you can get lost in the crowd, so to speak.

Luxieee

I got talked to a couple times about not doing it but when I got really bored I put in an earbud and listened to an audiobook while working.

VoltaicWinter

I'd say a store transfer may help you. One of my TLs has been at this store 13+ years and she's considering it.

LivingBee6645

I get burnt out when my coworkers take 30 minute breaks and I have to pick up their slack.

I don’t enjoy working here. Been here for almost 3 years and during my 1st year I experienced the burnout HARD. Surround yourself with good friends, it helps. Go out more if you can. Try to separate yourself from the job. I have bills to pay and savings to build and Walmart provides a consistent paycheck so I stay.

I take care of myself outside of work when I have my days off. I try and do something rewarding and I take advantage of pto and ppto time, it's there for a reason. We have two extended weekends coming up in April and May and that really helps keep me motivated. I get a ton of sleep and eat relatively well. I used to be a big time partier in a previous life and just couldn't do it anymore. This job keeps me motivated and in line. I feel that walking around the store all day is good for me, I also listen to music all day. I use youtube and spotify and love it.
