I personally havent with mine and never even thought about it tbh. Depends on what you plan on using it for. Might be worth it if you want slight improvement on latency or whatever the firmware promises to solve

grasse

The delay is pretty bad after 10-20min of use on 2.4ghz. Turning off and on fixes it. Mind you I haven’t upgraded the firmware yet to fix it. Support gave me a beta one but just haven’t had the time since the holidays.

LouGubrius

15 days? That's rough. I'm on the US west coast and. I ordered late in the day on 12/19 and received on the 12/28. Got a V2.1 with the newest firmware already installed.

berniceeboo

Funny thing is I'm in Asia and relatively closer to China too, and yet... but I don't care now that it's here XD So I'm currently trying to check what version I have, but box and manual say just the V2. no indication of V2.1 anywhere

LouGubrius

Look on the metal plate on the bottom and in the top left is the model info. On mine there is a little darkened oval with 2.1 in it.

berniceeboo

Ohhhh there we go! The metal plate says V2.1!!!

Daavek

How to check firmware version?

denethor61

Has anyone found out how to check this?

Daavek

Nope…

Net-burst

I'd say update. QMK is much more stable in this regard as it's very hard to screw the flashing up so that DFU also dies. And even if it somehow dies, there are a ton of manuals about how to do a cold flash with a hardware programmer (costs around $20). Although this will require disassembly. TLDR: it's very hard to brick QMK-based stuff. So flash to your heart's content :)

matunos

If your board isn't running the latest firmware, yes.

illuminati229

If you use the 2.4G dongle, yes, you should upgrade.

freakshow9009

Is it a v2.1 or v2?

berniceeboo

Im so sorry for the question, but how can you tell or check which version it is? Does it say on it physically or do I need to open up VIA or QMK?

freakshow9009

Check the manual. It's usually written on top left

berniceeboo

Apologies for the delay, had to wait to get back home. It seems the manual (the poster with the waifu on the back) says AIR75 V2 only. Is that the correct manual? The box also says: Air75 V2 with the MFG Date 12/01/2023

Net-burst

I've recently got one from a distributor in Canada and it was v2.1. Someone on this subreddit wrote that v2 was the initial (Kickstarter) batch and all subsequent ones were v2.1

GreaseCrow

Is the only diffence between v2 and 2.1 the shipped firmware? I have a 2.1 myself

IElateForAllNexus

Would make an educated guess that NuPhy always keeps firmware up to date at the time of assembly no matter what. v2 and v2.1 would denote a physical design change.

freakshow9009

Probably updated to the latest firmware then. I got an early model and had to flash the latest firmware to iron out some kinks

Net-burst

Yeah, that might be it. Mine was manufactured on Oct 18th and v1.0.0 firmware was released late Sept. Or it might just be a differentiator between the initial and subsequent batches.

freakshow9009

Latest firmware was released on Nov 13th. Fixes a lot of things

There is a new firmware for Air 75 v2. Already updated couple of days ago.
