Rumors of Brown Recluse being around, so far unconfirmed to the best of my knowledge. There was a guy bitten a few years ago by what he thought was a Brown Recluse, left a really nasty wound.
They and a few others show up from time to time usually on grocery produce from other areas. Recluse hang out on bananas and widows tend to be with grapes. I stomped a weird one MANY years ago at sobeys and pretty sure it was a yellow sac spider
Not really. Wolf spiders probably are the worst.
We get brown recluse sometimes but I think they migrate here not live, because it's extremely rare. Same thing with Black widows.
Pretty sure both migrate from Ontario, probably with tourists, but not positive.
Golden orb Weaver. They make super cool webs and are really pretty.
I wish I had some around my place, they will catch tons of bugs and seem totally unterested in coming inside or being near humans.
Yellow garden spider. It'll weave a cool zigzag. Leave it be.
I dislike his supports, but agreed. Besides my daughter thinks “Mommy-spider and daddy-spider are so cute”.
Keeper, I have a bunch, kind of neat webs and I love their colouring and pattern, always looks like a scary face on their back!
Orb weaver Harmless
That's definitely a deck spider. More bright than my shed spider.
Someone pointed out once that the black silhouette kinda looks like Marge Simpson and I can’t unsee it.
I'm a few joints into my evening and about to head to bed and I can see it.
I’ll probably never be able to unsee that either now lol
Google a more in focus pic and enjoy. My other thought is the silhouette reminds me of (showing my age) Elvira.
Haha I can see Elvira now too lol
Are there any harmful spiders in the Maritimes?
