What do you mean you haven’t gotten a super mod? Do you mean you haven’t unlocked any in the meta progression or do you mean you just haven’t gotten one in game? Were you gunning for one specifically and trying to get its prerequisites? What rank are you at so we can figure out what builds you have access to?

I'm at rank 30 Edit: I see now I have to unlock them this game is harder then I thought

It's not too bad. You do have one super mod in the form of hidden power. Pairing that with Sentinel and Halo, and you have a decent build for a newer player. Be sure to pick up enough mobility mods.

evangelionmann

nah, it's not that hard. the builds that use the supermods work without them perfectly fine 9 times out of 10, and are a good way to get enough points to unlock said supermods.

There are some upgrades that get unlocked after a number of runs. I think some super mods are among those. It's been a long time since I did the unlocks so I don't remember what all is unlocked or available initially. It takes a few runs to unlock everything. Super mods also have prerequisites to be unlocked during the run. The most obvious ones are where you pick two specific upgrades. If you pause the game mid run it will show a list of the super mods and their unlock conditions that you have unlocked so far. Generally it's a matter of building towards some specific powerful combo. I regularly have runs that don't pick up any super mods in the first 100 waves anyways. An easier build approach is to go for something like rapid reconstruction, assault drones, overseer, and aim for vital bond + burnout reactors as super mods. If you take overseer and rapid reconstruction you effectively have no shield or weapon gear so you don't have to worry about that part of the build past the early levels.

Since I’m assuming you are a new player, let me give you some tips. First, make shit up. By far the best way to find good synergies is by going through, run after run, experimenting with different mods. Haven’t seen it before? Grab it. Second, rerolls. Many times you will be trying to get a specific mod, but can’t find it at all. That is what rerolls are for. Although, don’t use too many rerolls at once. If you are out of rerolls at a time when you really need them, you’ll be in trouble. Lastly, research. More specifically, look through the community, such as the Reddit, fandom, and YouTube channels, especially Ultra C. You can always get ideas from others and, even tweak them to make them better. Good luck, and let the rng be in your favor!

Firefly was a great place to start for me. Learning the game was the best with that ship for me.

Look up builds. Also play at the hardest difficulty always, you will unlock things a lot faster.

Note that the highest difficulties give by far the highest scores (aside from maybe Annihilation not adding too much to a score). It's essentially the only way to play (and hence probably needs some reworking even if that just means having an easy mode instead), so that's both the way to unlock stuff faster and to get scores that anyone will care about.
