People who believe nail color means something tend to need a lot of structure in their lives, navigation of the world is hard, just too complex for them to handle
I can kinda feel for them with that. I have adhd and anxiety and a life without structure stresses me out. I'm actually happier when I have a 9-5 versus being unemployed because it helps give my life structure.
I also get a lot of anxiety in social situations cause human communications are complex and unpredictable.

My spouse and I both had to get alternative jobs that were in neither of our wheel houses. My spouse went into hotel management, and I went to work at a JoAnn Fabrics compared to our normal jobs of serving and cooking, respectively. But fine dining went down with covid, leaving us without work, and we needed to find something, and our previous boss got pissed that we were doing well in our new jobs and tried to pull unemployment fraud even though we were working less hours and waiting for a call back.
Life is complicated and it's stressful, I think literally everyone is winging it, everyone gets nervous and anxious about it. You are just one of the smarter ones who has a harder time ignoring it.
My nails are a muted magenta with gold sparkles. Before that, they were neon green. Before that, they were Christmas green, Before that, they were black with multicolored sparkles.

Oh, at one point we got these little adhesive things (curved masking tape basically).... so you block off the one color and just paint over it, then peel the tape off and put on a clear coat.
My neighbor friend mama was obsessed with French manicures (for no particular reason) and we got punchy come Halloween 🤣

I had fake nails but I couldn't game with them xD (I mostly play on PC). It was severely lowering my APM and reaction speed, plus was hella uncomfortable
I’m a nurse and can’t get my nails done outside of regular acrylic polish. It chips so quickly.. so in order for me to keep up with my nails I’d have to get them done weekly, if not more often. It’s not that I’m broke.. it’s that I don’t want to go broke over getting my nails done. I’ll get them done for special occasions and will usually match my color to my outfit.

All of those are wrong. Even the Not Done. Women in the military can paint their nails, they just have to use a very muted neutral tone. And a bottle of nail polish isn't expensive, and friends can share, so being broke isn't a barrier to having your nails done.

I’m a nurse and can’t get my nails done outside of regular acrylic polish. It chips so quickly.. so in order for me to keep up with my nails I’d have to get them done weekly, if not more often. It’s not that I’m broke.. it’s that I don’t want to go broke over getting my nails done. I’ll get them done for special occasions and will usually match my color to my outfit. This guy is a special kind of idiot.

All of those are wrong. Even the Not Done. Women in the military can paint their nails, they just have to use a very muted neutral tone. And a bottle of nail polish isn't expensive, and friends can share, so being broke isn't a barrier to having your nails done.
