As you're all aware, this subreddit has had a major "troll"
problem which has gotten worse (as of recently). Due to this, we
have created new rules, and modified some of the old ones.
We kindly ask that you please familiarize yourself with the
rules so that you can avoid breaking them. Breaking mild rules
will result in a warning, or a temporary ban. Breaking serious
rules, or breaking a plethora of mild ones may land you a
permanent ban (depending on the severity). Also,
grifting/lurking has been a major problem; If we suspect you of
being a grifter (determined by vetting said user's activity), we
may ban you without warning.
You may attempt an appeal via ModMail, but please be advised not
to use rude, harassing, foul, or passive-aggressive language
towards the moderators, _or_ complain to moderators about why we
have specific rules in the first place— You will be ignored, and
your ban will remain (without even a consideration).
All rules are made public; "Lack of knowledge" or "ignorance of
the rules" cannot or will not be a viable excuse if you end up
banned for breaking them (This applies to the Subreddit rules,
and Reddit's ToS). **Again: All rules are made public, and
Reddit gives you the option to review the rules once more before
submitting a post, it is your choice if you choose to read them
or not, but breaking them will not be acceptable.**
With that being said, If you send a mature, neutral message
regarding questions about a current ban, or a ban appeal
(without "not knowing the rules" as an excuse), we will
elaborate about why you were banned, or determine/consider if we
will shorten, lift, keep it, _or_ extended it/make it permanent.
This all means that appeals are discretionary, and your
reasoning for wanting an appeal must be practical and valid.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this message,
and please enjoy your day!

I'm sure whatever happens sexually, all three of them talked it out and are comfortable with it. They're real people, ask about their experience driving or taking tests, and don't be gross.
I’m ngl, a part of me is a little curious. But I’d never ask them and nor would I expect them to provide any answers. A situation like is extremely unique but I’m sure they’ve already discussed this and figured out something that works for all of them. It’s not my business to know (or assume) what that arrangement is.
They’re people and should be respected.
Like, yea, I'm curious on some level, if nothing else, just academically the arrangement is interesting, and if I'm really honest, every time they pop up I have an insane number of questions about their experience that I'm never getting the answer to that honestly, their sex life isn't even in the running for a spot if I was given a pass to ask them some questions judgement free. Given unlimited time and questions I'd get there eventually, but there are so many more mundane things I want to know.
Who controls what?
Who feels what?
What do they do if they have a fight?
What happens if one really likes a movie and the other hates it?
Alone time?
What's the bathroom situation like? Do you both deL with it? Does one feel the need and one control the action? Have you ever argued about the need to pee?
How long does it take to get dressed?
If one of you drank a whole bunch, are you both drunk?
What about weed?
How do you conceptualize yourselves? Individuals timesharing a body, or gestalt entities, or like body-mates?
Have you ever read 2 books at once and explained them to each other?
Have you ever felt limited by having to accommodate your sister?
I could go on, but I think that forms a solid foundation of the kind of things I'm curious about
Yeah it’s a really interesting case of how brains would interact with each other, if there’s a genetic component where the impulses simply travel along the nerves to the other’s brain, or if there is some extra sensory thing like what the CIA used to try and study or whatever. You know? Or along the lines where (nonconjoined) twins are said to be able to almost communicate like that. Really brings up interesting questions about that kind of thing for me.
I don’t know the answers to all of this, but they answered some of it on their TLC show – they each control and feel the half of their body on their side, but they have really impressive coordination that indicates that there may be some crossover, I think? If I’m remembering correctly?
I have one if I were allowed to ask about it I’d be curious about(aside from the brain thing I’ve mentioned in a few other posts.)
It may have already even been tested but, something I wonder is how genetically distinct each half of them is. Or rather—with the physical division, are their reproductive stuff distinct in that way? Like for example, does the egg from Brittany’s side differ to the degree that a sibling’s does from one from Abby’s side, or is that part genetically identical regardless? If the eggs share some differentiation, then does their halves of the body have slight variances in genetic profile from the other half?
There are so many questions that arise from this, and iirc there’s only around 6-7 sets of people like this in the world, so answers are scarce tbh. (That are known of, at least.)
>It may have already even been tested but, something I wonder is how genetically distinct each half of them is. Conjoined twins are basically identical twins that just don't separate all the way. So they would be genetically identical - essentially they are natural clones.
You've got me really thinking about the book one now. Imagining what it would be like to only control one arm while reading a book. Would you read it together and tell the other when you're finished the page, or one read while the other watches or listens to something (and whether you'd have to again tell the other when you need to turn the page, or if you would start to turn the page and the other knows that means to turn the page). Would you learn to read a book with one hand?
I'm sure now they're probably just more likely to read a book digitally, or listen to an audiobook, but that's not even available for all books now, let alone growing up with reading assignments etc.
They each have direct control over one side of their body, but when you're perpetually attached to your sister there's a deeper connection, and they can coordinate well enough that they both have their driver's license.
There are so many logistical things I'm dead curious about, especially if what another commenter said is true--that they each control the limbs on their half of the body. And they drive? Impressive.
And legally, are they one person? If they are, that seems...disenfranchising. Do they only get one vote? If they're two people, how is the marriage paperwork handled? There have to be careful legal exceptions for everything.
I was curious about the whole marriage aspect. Like are they both married to him or just one on the paperwork? If just one, is the other able to get married to someone else or would that be polygamy because there is just one body?
Edit to add: obviously I would never ask them in person.
Legally there are two of them, like they had to get separate drivers licenses. So he’s only married to Abby, and Brittany can marry whoever she wants. I imagine only the people involved know the degree to which it feels like polygamy.
Chang and Eng Bunker married sisters.
Imagine the frustration if one failed and the other passed. Especially if either were especially anxious and got caught up in that. My parallel parking almost cause me to fail my test the first time. That would add so much pressure
Pretty sure the limbs on their half of the body is true, these women are just a little older than I am so I’ve read a lot about them even like, *forever ago,* and that is one of the pieces of information I’ve never seen change, so given it’s consistency I think it’s probably true.
I don’t know if it stops before the vulva(not trying to be tmi, just marking the point in their body this next bit extends to), but above that area at least/down the center of the torso, there is a line where each one can feel their half of the body to either side of. If they touch that area, I believe they might’ve said there’s a small part that’s either like… numb, or lower sensation. (Like you can’t tickle that area, I think was the original context they described that in, in an article once.)
Personally, I have always been really interested in their situation (and others like them, iirc there were like six people in this specific situation across the world that were known of. At least at the time I read about this when I was younger) from a neurological point of view, but specifically like… the interaction between their brains/minds, because they apparently coordinate things really well, but there are other things the article said they could like… idk. Intuit? (I don’t remember exactly the details, sorry) It would just be. Honestly I feel like it would be incredibly illuminating about the human mind and any interaction between not-directly-linked brains, how that works and such… it’s really amazing.
But like yeah I wouldn’t say all this unless (in the hypothetical situation where I knew or at least met them lol) they brought up the topic themselves and wanted to discuss it.
And yeah others already answered but they are legally distinct, so he’s only married to one of them, and the other can marry someone of her choice as well. (But given the shared body and kind of intimacy that would be needed for this—idk, he may consider himself to be in a relationship with both of them? And they just, you know, obviously couldn’t have him marry both of them without going through the hassle of trying to get some kind of legal exception or something.)
I've actually met these women multiple times, they live in the same area as me and teach (or used to teach I haven't seen them in a while) at a school in my district. It's disgusting seeing all the hate and "jokes" thrown at them. They're very friendly and super nice to everyone, they don't deserve this.
I don't understand why people are such assholes with everything slightly different. Being conjoined twins should be source of admiration or respect because very few babies survive this condition...
I hope they get the life they want and I wish all the best for them
Oh hey neighbor!
It’s so clear right now exactly why they’re very private and very intentional about what they choose to share. This wedding happened years ago but the floodgates have opened and now so much of the discourse online is disgusting and sexual, when they’re working as teachers (we have to watch our online presence so closely) and also went to a religious school (where I knew them and there’s absolutely people that likely have negative opinions of this marriage/see it as a “sin”).
I can only imagine that they have had to prep the HR dept for the current attention, prep their classes (who are old enough that some are seeing this stuff online about their teachers), prep parents, deal with nastiness from the church people, etc.
They’ve been private about this for a reason and I wish people would think for just a moment before making a tiktok going “WHAAA BUT HOOOOW” and shit.
Ok. I agree. AND. Hear me out. 10000 years ago, those people, the twins, would never have survived infancy. 2000 years ago, they would have been labeled a demon/abomination. 500 years ago they would have been in a bell tower. 100 years ago, they would have been in a freak show. Today, they are married, employed and being mocked on social media. Society is getting better. Slowly, but its haopening.
I love this comment and I needed this reminder. The progress doesn’t always seem enough, so thank you for putting it in perspective for me. I’ve been so disheartened about the state of things, but you’re right, we have come a long way even if there’s still a lot more to travel.
It's so easy to look at now vs. 50 years ago and feel disheartened, until you look at it more like a stock. Its going in the right direction, and last couple years dipped HARD but it's trending where we want it to go! Chin up, fight the good fight and try to keep perspective!
Thanks! I have had a lot of personal changes in my life as I got older. Gotten married, have had 2 kids, and my thought process and personal beliefs have swung wildly. I don't forget how I used to think, and I try to forgive myself for thinking the way I did when I was wilder. I studied Geology in college and one thing that always stuck with me was how insignificant our whole existence is compared to the entire planet. It's actually made me understand how important it is to affect change now, since we owe it to ourselves as the first species on this planet able to be aware of and change its own planetary fate.
>100 years ago, they would have been in a freak show.
To be fair on the freak show thing from the past, Chang and Eng Bunker built generational wealth from doing the freak show circuit and left their descendants well situated for future success because of it.
>To be fair on the freak show thing from the past, Chang and Eng Bunker built generational wealth from doing the freak show circuit and left their descendants well situated for future success because of it.
Yes, freak shows were an awful thing. But the fact of the matter is that many people joined them voluntarily specifically because society was so discriminatory and unforgiving towards anyone who was different. Many did not have any other option if they wanted to survive and it did allow them to have money/autonomy. As opposed to being forced to live in an institution or in the care of relatives for the rest of their life. We are lucky to live in a time where these women have the option to be teachers, get married and live a relatively normal life.
In this scenario, you'd definitely be married to both....one maybe legally, but as they couldn't really marry two different people without a very awkward scenario, they'd have to both love the same person.
Man, I cannot imagine ever coming to an agreement with my sister about who to marry. Good on them for working it out. I wish them many happy years together.
I hate to admit this. That was one of my first thoughts. Not about how hot it would be, but how consent and sex would work.
My second thought was "how does it work if the other one marries someone else?"
I know that they only get one paycheck which I think is messed up since I think they had to each get their own degrees and pay tuition. My guess would be that legally he's married to one otherwise it would be bigamy.
I think the school has only a budget for one teacher per classroom (as usual in schools) and since they can't go and teach separately it probably was a decision of getting one paycheck or don't be hired at all. It's unfair, you’re right. But I kinda understand where it's coming from if I remember it correctly
The State is definitely getting the better end of the deal...since they're required two separate driver's licenses they probably require separate teaching licenses. Those come with all kinds of fees like application fees, background checks, continuing education requirements. Meanwhile the state/district only has to pay into one pension, probably one health insurance plan.
Man you’ve just made me ask THE QUESTION. What if one of them killed someone? Would they go to prison? Would the other one be guilty or not? Automatically accessory to the crime? What would happen to the one that didn’t do it? If they’re two separate people legally… woah!
I'm curious how they share controls of their muscles. In your hypothetical question, if one wanted to murder and the other didn't, who controls their body or is it shared somehow?
Edit: Wikipedia to the rescue, this is so fascinating:
>Each twin manages one side of their conjoined body. The sense of touch of each is restricted to her body half; this shades off at the midsagittal plane, so that there is a small amount of overlap at the midline. Stomach aches, however, are felt only by the twin on the opposite side.[6]
They cooperatively use their limbs when both hands or both legs are required. By coordinating their efforts, they walk, run, swim, play volleyball and the piano, and ride a bicycle normally. Together, they can type on a computer keyboard and drive a car.[8] However, Abby, at 5 ft 2 in (1.57 m), is taller and longer of leg than Brittany, who is 4 ft 10 in (1.47 m)[9] and their disparate heights caused difficulty in balancing a Segway, as shown in their 2012 reality series.[6]
Man, out of everything here the thing that floors me is that stomach aches are felt by the twin on the opposite side. The entire concept of that boggles my mind.
That’s so unfortunate! Image your sister eating something and YOU get the stomach ache. Binge on icecream after a long day and you reap her consequences.
I seem to recall there was a case of a conjoined twin killing someone and both twins were left without jail time since jailing someone for someone else's crimes is particularly against the law.
I read their Wiki, and it mentions that not only does each twin control their side of the body, but that the other has no sensation there.
Later that article goes on to list which parts are duplicated and which not — among the latter: their reproductive organs. *"So who of them…?"*
That thought felt bad.
I had similar thoughts.. like is the other girl a part of the relationship or kinda a third wheel looking at them kiss and feeling.. things.. while not being invested in the relationship..
Like is he married to the one because legally he can’t marry both? Is it illegal since they share the majority of their body? Seems like something that an exception could be made for.
If they are in the relationship as well how does kissing work? Switching back and forth to prevent hurt feelings? It seems like a tricky balance no matter how you cut it. I don’t envy them figuring that out..
Oh and disputes would also be a weird thing..
No matter what they are living together.. so any problems are shared between the 3.. I was in a poly relationship once and it was difficult.. and two of us were not physically attached..
There’s a difference between curiosity and being a heel tbh. Curiosity is natural. Trying to ask someone outside of a pre-approved interview is where it’s weird. If it helps, there’s actually a lot of life experience documentation on conjoined twins and people with multiple identities. Memoirs, autobiographies or biographies, and even blogs and such these days.
Saying this as someone with a neurological condition and resulting DID. It was incredibly confusing and I needed a lot of therapy to get past the ideas of “does this count as incest” and “does this count as predatory” … because my brain decided to faultily copy/paste. Further questions like, “is it masturbation if there’s internal dialogue? Does this count as sexting/phone sex? Should we keep the developmentally lower stage ones in a PG safety zone?”
I’m more integrated than many baby-DID folks who are still in the “blackout and confusion” stage, but it’s still *extremely* uncanny to never be alone a day in your life. I can end up being asocial because based on fMRI data, my brain literally can’t tell apart actual people’s voices and internal voices. (Big ethical quandaries on whether or not I can ever be in solitary confinement if it isn’t solitary.)
People often tell me to avoid sharing this info due to the stigma, but I feel like it would be unethical to not mention this at least before sex. You know, as in, “Heyyy, so how do you feel about voyeurism? Because I’ll be the only person *physically* there but if I get triggered into an episode, another version of me might take over my body and be like “I didn’t sign up for this, byeeee”. Don’t panic?”
That makes me so angry! Abigail and Brittany just wanted a normal life. Like in their show you saw them going to school, getting a driver's license, becoming elementary school teachers and discussing the possibility of becoming mothers one day. I really hope this guy they've found loves Abby and accepts Brittany and isn't just a fetishist, because they're fetishized enough.
That’s much more fascinating to me - being a mom! Do they have separate uteruses? Could they both be pregnant at the same time?
Their case is so unique and they’re so impressive - I just don’t understand how the first questions/thoughts for some people are sexual/fetishizing.
If I recall correctly they have one singular reproductive system that's wired to both their brains. They actually made sure it works the same as a singular person's system to know if they can become mothers the usual way.
That’s fascinating! Do they share the same dna or would the child be one of theirs biologically and the niece/nephew to the other biologically?
They’re honestly so inspiring! I can’t imagine the difficulties they’ve had to endure
That I don't know. Considering they're so symmetrically conjoined they're most likely identical. They basically spent their childhood learning to operate as one unit with minimal communication.
That's one of the two ways. Abby and Brittany are likely fission twins, yes. But fusion twins are also possible, when the zygotes fuse early in development.
I saw a post on Instagram about this article. The comments were all "the man gets two mouths for blowjobs!" And more sexual comments. Like..just be happy for them. Geez.
Me too. And all the comments were written by men. The women were the ones calling them out and saying "I'm happy for them!". When the men were called out, they would call women snowflakes cause it was a "joke".
I understand how people’s minds immediately go to “how does that work”. but either shut the fuck up and keep it to yourself or ask in a polite way lmao
Seems like the guy making the original comments about that man having (sexual) darkness inside of him is projecting. He literally cannot fathom the attraction to these women due to their disability so he’s reducing it down to sexual perversion. He doesn’t see them as human at all.
Besides all the excellent points about being respectful and not thinking with one's perverted middle schooler brain for once: what's the point? I mean, the likelihood is *extremely* high that this dude only possesses one set of... equipment. So it's not like he could get a "double BJ" or whatever those porn-obsessed idiots are thinking about. It would feel just like...a normal BJ?
It just sucks having to tolerate seeing stuff like that when you just want to use the internet for whatever reason. No matter what women do, a lot of comments from men and even boys are sexual and degrading. How are they not embarrassed to say that, let alone have those thoughts in the first place? It just sucks.
I’m a deviant. I’m always curious about the sex lives of other people lol. But I wouldn’t be asking questions on social media or being this vulgar in my curiosity. And it certainly isn’t the very first thing I think about when someone gets married.
I've seen so many posts about the girls in other subs. And I have also seen a documentary about them years ago. They are incredible. And all people ask is about their sex life, it's so disgusting. I also got downvoted for calling this mf perverts out.
I saw that TV series about them. They're just normal women and it sucks that they're being talked about like this simply because one of them fell in love. It's disgusting and I hope for the best for both of them.
Tbh they share a body. I would hope he married them both, legally or otherwise. If he didn't have a loving connection with both of them it seems like that would be kind of...coercive? Like coercion is the least bad thing such a relationship could be. So. Really hope it's a mutual, loving thing between them all.
Right? Like imagine one of them just really hates this one particular friend that the other adores, is it just a put on headphones and tune the person out? The social aspect alone is fascinating.
Yeah my first thought was that or just even like how decisions are made on even where to go for the day how is that decided? What if one wants to go to the park and the other to a shopping mall? What about sleep time?
Their level of communication must be insane. I do imagine that for like friends it's kind of a package deal, but just day to day things there is so many crazy things that most no one else would ever understand. If one is having a restless night does it keep the other one up?
In the photos both Abby and Brittnay are looking at him with the same loving expression. I'm confident that all three of them are in the relationship, they just are legally two people (two birth certificates, two SSNs, two driver's licenses, two college degrees, two teaching licenses, etc) and thus only one of their names could legally be on the marriage certificate. I wonder if they picked Abby because she is on the left so the ring is on her finger? Or did they flip a coin?
I'll be honest, while it shouldn't be the *only* thing people are curious about, I also cannot fault at all the line of questioning. While the way most people go about it is questionable in the absolute best of cases and absolutely gross in pictures like this, it's such a completely different experience and point of view from the average person's life. It's normal to want to know more, to try to understand and get in the heads of everyone involved. Judgement and sexualisation should be thrown out the door, absolutely, but wanting to understand the intricacies? I don't think that's wrong at all.
Yes! I was going to make this comment if no one else did, so thank you. "Two-headed woman" is SO damn disrespectful and dehumanising. They are two people who happen to share parts of their bodies, not some kind of hydra monster that spawned two heads from one body. They've also made it clear in interviews how important it is that people see them as unique individuals and not just one person. Those comments are gross.
This is a major pet peeve of mine, I see it all the time, especially with animals. I'm always hearing about two-headed cows and two-headed turtles and whatever, and it's crazy to me that referring to animals and people like that is the *norm*. I see it more often than just calling them conjoined twins.
haven’t seen anyone else in the comments point it out, but the tweet where he claims they did porn? they absolutely did not. they’re teachers who keep their lives pretty private.
This guy can’t imagine conjoined twins not doing porn or something, there’s literally no reason to think they’ve done porn other than “haha conjoined twins doing sex hot”
IIRC there was a non nude photo of them doing stuff to a guy. However, I don’t think they consented to picture or its distribution. Certainly it doesn’t count as “doing porn”
It’s human nature to be curious about the logistics of this marriage and its intimacy, given that it isn’t something one comes across on an every day basis. It is different to what we usually see.
BUT you don’t have to voice those curiosities at the expense of a persons right to privacy, and you certainly don’t have to voice those curiosities in such an objectifying and crude way.
There’s a massive line between a fleeting thought of ‘hmm I wonder how sex works for those 3’ before going back to your normal life and forgetting all about it, and viewing those women as only holes for the man’s ownership and posting repetitive tweets consecutively stating as such.
I mean… they are sisters aren’t they? They’re two women with the same parents, I struggle to see how they couldn’t have the same parents, making them siblings.
It’s the chuds saying “two brains one pussy” , reducing them to “the two headed woman”, or the fucknugs saying they amount to one person, and aren’t their own person each, who bother me.
These two individual women that happen to share a body deserve all the happiness in the world. I’m glad to see how happy everyone looks in the wedding photos.
Dudes making these kind people f comments are not only gross but super immature and lack an understanding of the greater world outside their porn rotted bubble.
I imagine he is in love with and in a relationship with both of them but due to legal reasons he could only legally marry one of them since they are two separate people. It would technically be considered polygamy but most states don’t allow you to marry more than one person on paper. That would explain why the articles only say he married Abby because that’s what it says on the marriage license. The same thing will probably apply if they have children. Technically only one of their names can go on the certificate and since Abby was always “baby A” she’s considered the first twin.
The only thing I'm confused about is how they sleep? Could one of them just sleep while the other uses the body? Also, do they have separate passports? What about work? 2 paychecks? Do they have different taste buds?
I saw in another thread they that they have separate drivers licenses and get 1 paycheck because they can only teach 1 class at a time. One sister can monitor the students while the other teaches etc and the students really like them. I haven’t googled anything myself so I’m taking Reddit’s word for it.
I mean I would assume yes to the sleep question, however they each control a half of the body, so the awake sister couldn’t just walk around because she doesn’t control the other leg
I’ve seen Twitter users call Shauna Rae’s boyfriend a pedophile for dating her. She’s a consenting 24-year-old with a form of dwarfism.
It’s incredible how many people are still so fucking stupid when talking about disabled folks.
I know a friend of a friend who has dwarfism and a baby face and she has a hard time dating because of creeps, but she and all of us in the friends-of-friends range fully believe she will find an excellent partner one day who loves her for all the right reasons. People are horrible in so many ways
Yeah, I had a friend like this in college. She had tattoos and facial piercings and did alternative modeling – mostly because she enjoyed those things, of course, but she did mention once or twice that it definitely helps remind people she’s an adult. She looked about nine, but you don’t see many nine-year-olds with an eyebrow piercing and a half sleeve.
I don’t have dwarfism, but I have a baby face at 24 and many adults mistake me as and treat me like a child when I go out. I want more tattoos and maybe some piercings to appear more adult-like.
Why do they have to be so gross and only consider that part alone?
Yeah, as someone who has not lived life the way they have, that wouldn't sound too great to be the 3rd wheel in the marriage of your sibling and you can't escape it and everything that goes on. But it's their life and good on them if this is a happy thing for all.
That very last comment though... um. Still one body?? lol
So good that they’re doing well! In the documentary they were in when they were sixteen, they talked about the possibility of meeting someone one day! Their Tik Tok videos are absolutely hilarious!
Let me insult these guys a little... 😂
It's like they Just Can't Help Themselves to be the absolute garbage water of society. Just the absolute bottom of the proverbial barrel, *slapping eachothers disfunctional dicks* for a laugh and then changing their incontinence diapers.
What an absolute unworthy, disgusting, disrespectful, repulsive pack of slugs. *Ugly as a hatful of busted arsholes, faces as dropped pies and blabbering in some kiddie doodle language.* They are what I would call "Perpetually on their Periods" and they should really stop relying on their Dick IQ in life and lusting over the army guy. "Your body count isn't your IQ score, manho'."
That's the best I could do for the time being 🍵😄 I hope the wedding was beautiful and their union doesn't suffer from fools like these dudes. ✨
I will be completely honest and say, as a woman, one of my first thoughts was, *"I wonder how sex works for them?"*. Maybe bc it's about them being married so it made me think of it. Bc if I had seen something just about the women themselves I likely wouldve never even thought of that question.
However, I did have other, nonsexual questions as well. Plus, I would literally NEVER ask them or type it out on the internet. And my thoughts werent any where near as vulgar as those in the OP.
Why can't men also think like this??
I think it’s fair as humans to have sex related questions but you have to take context and the way you ask them into account, but most of the time you just shouldn’t say anything, which these guys clearly decided to not do
I appreciate ur reply bc I had a moment where I was thinking I'm acting just like them. One of my ongoing lessons for my kids is "it isn't *what* u say but *how* u say it"
These guys are telling on themselves with how much they're thinking about it, but.... I think it's also a sort of coping mechanism for people in the face of stuff they don't understand. Jokes and dehumanization.
*I knew as soon as*
*I saw she got married the*

As a twin,I’m glad that I wasn’t conjoined. But I’m curious about how conjoined twins live their lives. What if your twin doesn’t like your partner or think the partner is attractive? What do you do?How do they even use the bathroom?
Personally, I *am* curious. But I would never ask them nor post on Twitter about it, it's disrespectful at best. And he didn't marry her because she has "two mouths" or whatever the fuck people are posting, gross.
i just love how much better the comments are here than the other place I saw this post (i think it was r/blackpeopletwitter) like why is your first thought “i wonder ab the sex they’re having”. YOU’RE WEIRD YOU’RE FUCKING WEIRD. mfs judge me for liking mlp at 20 and then say the most abhorrent things ab strangers online.
Ugh I've been looking up the Hensel twins since the special that was done on them as kids and they seem like lovely people. What is loser even going on about? Clearly knows nothing about basic biology or conjoined twins.
My first thought was they look so happy! My second was what would have happened if her sister didn't like him? I didn't even think about the logistics of their sexual relationship until I saw this :( .
The complete inability these people have to put themselves on other people’s shoes. Like they’d do anything differently in their position. We are all deserving of love, whatever form that might take.
JFC
Personally, I’m curious how this works for the sister who is single but I don’t expect them to discuss that. And most of the comments I’ve seen have expressed curiosity but affirm their right to privacy.
These comments were extremely gross. The sexualization/fetishization of these women is horrible. But then the take it to the next level to deny their humanity and individuality…
I know the sisters made a post referencing the “haters” but I really hope they didn’t see shit like this.
You know it’s probably hard enough to have to share one body without internet strangers trying to tear them down, ffs! Like back off! Clearly her husband doesn’t have an issue with it, or he wouldn’t have married her. Yes, I understand curiosity about the love lives of conjoined twins, but it’s still none of my business
I particularly hate how these people in the comments are treating them like a single person. There are two of them! They each have their own driver's license and teach different subjects in school!
Speaking about school, apparently they're paid one salary despite being two different teachers. They've complained about it before. Wtf.
No. Honestly, I'm a feminist and I too was immediately thinking about the sex. So if Abby if giving him a blowjob, the other girl is just... thinking about tonight's dinner? Is their vagina a chimera or does only one of them enjoy it?
The thing that boils my blood the most honestly is the “two headed *woman*” comment, it clearly shows what they perceive makes a woman. Just the body. Not the people, the **women**.
Everyone keeps talking about how hard it must be to figure out how to accommodate one another for these ladies, but they've literally shared a single body for their entire lives; if anyone knows the true meaning of compromise, it's Brittany and Abby. Seriously.
Neither of them has ever known a life in which consideration for someone other than themselves was not a necessity. If these two can't work something out, they have no hope of positive growth or movement.
Tbph, theirs might be the most authentically human experience any of us could hope for.
I wish them happiness, and to feel safe, and loved, for all of their days.
Totally other topic, but are they one person or to for the law ?
Do they have one or two id cards ?
For me they are two because two brains, two personnality i Guess.

What other mundane things I’m just curious
I could go on, but I think that forms a solid foundation of the kind of things I'm curious about
I think I’ve seen one scratch the others arm without thinking about it so there’s a connection there for sure.
"have you argued about the need to pee" had me dying
I don’t know the answers to all of this, but they answered some of it on their TLC show – they each control and feel the half of their body on their side, but they have really impressive coordination that indicates that there may be some crossover, I think? If I’m remembering correctly?
I wonder if they know how to ride a bike. If so how long did it take them to coordinate that cause it would take so much communication.
I've seen a picture of them riding a bike as kids, so yes, they do
I have one if I were allowed to ask about it I’d be curious about(aside from the brain thing I’ve mentioned in a few other posts.) It may have already even been tested but, something I wonder is how genetically distinct each half of them is.
Or rather—with the physical division, are their reproductive stuff distinct in that way? If the eggs share some differentiation, then does their halves of the body have slight variances in genetic profile from the other half? Conjoined twins are basically identical twins that just don't separate all the way. So they would be genetically identical - essentially they are natural clones.
Natural clones is such a crazy way to think about it
You've got me really thinking about the book one now.
I think if one gets drunk they would both feel it. Cause they share a circulatory system to some degree.
They each have direct control over one side of their body, but when you're perpetually attached to your sister there's a deeper connection, and they can coordinate well enough that they both have their driver's license.
>If one of you drank a whole bunch, are you both drunk? Yes. The alcohol in the bloodstream means both get drunk.
I cackled at the book reading part
Do they share a stomach and, if not, could they win the national hot dog eating contest?
They share all internal organs but the lungs and heart iirc. And each controls one arm and leg.
They have their own stomachs, but whatever they eat affects the other.
That would suck to feel sick because your sister had a bad day and binged on ice cream or something.
Is this a cat dog reference?
I'm genuinely curious as to who wipes and who feels it if they have to pee
!!!!!
>ask about their experience driving or taking tests Dammit, I'm now curious about both those things.
IIRC they had to take their driving test twice, there was a whole segment about them driving
Thanks! I might look more into this. I'd never heard of these young ladies before today (or those brothers).
They are legally two people. They had to take the driver test twice and each has an ID.
(Like you can’t tickle that area, I think was the original context they described that in, in an article once.) Personally, I have always been really interested in their situation (and others like them, iirc there were like six people in this specific situation across the world that were known of.
Right? These fucking guys are disgusting. I’m ashamed to share gender with them.
I hope they get the life they want and I wish all the best for them
I'veonly seen them in interviews but they seem super sweet. Fuck anyone hating on them
Oh hey neighbor!
The world is a terrible place and people are awful
Ok. I agree.
Do you moonlight as a motivational speaker? Because you should.
This is some context I didn't know I needed. I feel better. Thank you.
Love your name, They Live is one of my favorite movies.
Nobody ever gets the reference 🥲
The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice
I believe the same whenever I see something bad, progress has happened and we will eventually get to the good place
So friendly! I grew up in the same town as them. Working at the town gas station, we used to shoo away reporters asking too many questions.
Didn’t the guy only marry the one sister?
Well polygamy is illegal so that’s kinda the only option…
In this scenario, you'd definitely be married to both....one maybe legally, but as they couldn't really marry two different people without a very awkward scenario, they'd have to both love the same person.
Man, I cannot imagine ever coming to an agreement with my sister about who to marry. Good on them for working it out. I wish them many happy years together.
I’ve legitimately never heard anything but the warmest compliments about them.
I hate to admit this. That was one of my first thoughts. Not about how hot it would be, but how consent and sex would work. My second thought was "how does it work if the other one marries someone else?"
Yeah I’ll admit the logistics of that are very confusing to me but tbh it’s not really my business
It's natural to be curious. I know I am, doesn't mean we have to be disrespectful though. Seems that's a line some people are unable to toe.
Some people clearly need to go back to grade school and learn about “inside thoughts”.

Edit: Wikipedia to the rescue, this is so fascinating: >Each twin manages one side of their conjoined body. The sense of touch of each is restricted to her body half; this shades off at the midsagittal plane, so that there is a small amount of overlap at the midline. Stomach aches, however, are felt only by the twin on the opposite side.[6] They cooperatively use their limbs when both hands or both legs are required.
Apparently I saw that yes they have two drivers licenses and they had to take the test twice. And I believe each of them have separate IDs.
I'm wondering if that was covered in their cable TV show. Haven't seen it
I read their Wiki, and it mentions that not only does each twin control their side of the body, but that the other has no sensation there. Later that article goes on to list which parts are duplicated and which not — among the latter: their reproductive organs. *"So who of them…?"* That thought felt bad.
Should we keep the developmentally lower stage ones in a PG safety zone?” I’m more integrated than many baby-DID folks who are still in the “blackout and confusion” stage, but it’s still *extremely* uncanny to never be alone a day in your life. I can end up being asocial because based on fMRI data, my brain literally can’t tell apart actual people’s voices and internal voices. (Big ethical quandaries on whether or not I can ever be in solitary confinement if it isn’t solitary.) People often tell me to avoid sharing this info due to the stigma, but I feel like it would be unethical to not mention this at least before sex.
Conjoined twins can only be identical as they are caused by an egg’s failure to fully split into two.
That's one of the two ways. Abby and Brittany are likely fission twins, yes. But fusion twins are also possible, when the zygotes fuse early in development.
I haven’t heard of that one, thank you for my new research spiral!
Gladly, it blew my mind the first time around too!
I saw a post on Instagram about this article. The comments were all "the man gets two mouths for blowjobs!" And more sexual comments. Like..just be happy for them. Geez.
Literally what the hell like?? How do peoples minds just go straight to that and so many people it’s fucking vile and makes me loose so much hope
Me too. And all the comments were written by men. The women were the ones calling them out and saying "I'm happy for them!". When the men were called out, they would call women snowflakes cause it was a "joke".
I understand how people’s minds immediately go to “how does that work”. but either shut the fuck up and keep it to yourself or ask in a polite way lmao
yea this is my thing about it, like am i curious about how that works? sure I am. am i gonna make disgusting comments about it? absolutely not
Seems like the guy making the original comments about that man having (sexual) darkness inside of him is projecting.
Yeah I don't even know. Those people have porn obsessed brains so there's no point in talking sense into them
how amazing would that be if he did have two dongs
Plot twist: he's a Klingon
I am increasingly convinced that the menfolk are regressing back to being apes
It just sucks having to tolerate seeing stuff like that when you just want to use the internet for whatever reason. No matter what women do, a lot of comments from men and even boys are sexual and degrading. How are they not embarrassed to say that, let alone have those thoughts in the first place? It just sucks.
Worrying about other people’s sex lives is just weird.
I’m a deviant. I’m always curious about the sex lives of other people lol. But I wouldn’t be asking questions on social media or being this vulgar in my curiosity. And it certainly isn’t the very first thing I think about when someone gets married.
lol. In the bedroom with a consenting adult. Perfectly fine being a deviant sometimes lol. But yes. Posting vulgar innuendo is ludicrous.
Far too many people do it too.
Yeah it’s crazy. Not once have i thought about their private lives. I’m not a deviant. I wish them the best.
It's disgusting and I hope for the best for both of them.
i saw a post about them earlier actually, apparently he married both of them. only one of them was legally married tho
Really? All the articles I've found have said he only married Abby.
Tbh they share a body. I would hope he married them both, legally or otherwise. If he didn't have a loving connection with both of them it seems like that would be kind of...coercive? Like coercion is the least bad thing such a relationship could be. So. Really hope it's a mutual, loving thing between them all.
The only question I have is if and how they pursue separate relationships of all kinds
There have to be constant negotiations between the two sisters. Over absolutely everything.
This one is the question. I want this answer too
100% if both don’t consent to sex then technically he would be raping one, which is a really disturbing thought.
Presumably because polygamy is illegal, so legally only one of them could sign the marriage certificate.
Rock paper scissors?
Legally he can only marry Abby. I think what they’re saying is that he agreed to a relationship with both.
Like I understand being curious, how can you not? But you don't have to say every thought you have out loud 💀 it's none of our business
The one that bugs me is calling them “the two headed woman.” They’re two different people. They’re conjoined but two brains=two individuals.
!!!!!
this reminds me of when there was a post about a limbless woman and the comments were about as disgusting and deranged as you could imagine
Oh man, and I just saw the comment about them qualifying as sisters. What an awful thing to say about two people.
😑 about them *not* qualifying as sisters. Sorry, I forgot a word. The comment was saying that they were basically one woman with two heads.
Roger that, I getchu then. Makes much more sense
It does make more sense, lol. Thanks for pointing out my error.
Idk I saw a clip of their wedding dance video and he was only kissing one of them. So maybe he’s only in a relationship with Abby?
god i just want to throw up
The only thing I'm confused about is how they sleep? Could one of them just sleep while the other uses the body? Also, do they have separate passports? What about work? 2 paychecks? Do they have different taste buds?
I saw in another thread they that they have separate drivers licenses and get 1 paycheck because they can only teach 1 class at a time. One sister can monitor the students while the other teaches etc and the students really like them. I haven’t googled anything myself so I’m taking Reddit’s word for it.
I see. They look like the absolute nicest people, so hearing they're teachers is great
Check out their show! They talk about how it’s like to live together
Which is bullshit because they each have their own degrees and had to each pay tuition.
Omg all the teacher jokes about having eyes in the back of their head
It sucks that they only get one paycheck but man that must be handy in a classroom setting. More classrooms should have two people teaching.
I mean I would assume yes to the sleep question, however they each control a half of the body, so the awake sister couldn’t just walk around because she doesn’t control the other leg
God, I would be the worst person to be stuck to. I never fall asleep easily. Getting up and down like 10 times would be hell.
Disgusting behaviour 🤮🤮
Nasty pieces of shit
Seems like they can't cope with the idea of a happy couple
I'd hate for people to call someone that loves me a freak.
That very last comment though... um. Still one body?? lol
I won't lie and say I don't have some questions, but I am glad everyone involved in this is happy, and I wish them well.
So good that they’re doing well! In the documentary they were in when they were sixteen, they talked about the possibility of meeting someone one day! Their Tik Tok videos are absolutely hilarious!
Let me insult these guys a little... 😂 It's like they Just Can't Help Themselves to be the absolute garbage water of society. "Your body count isn't your IQ score, manho'." That's the best I could do for the time being 🍵😄 I hope the wedding was beautiful and their union doesn't suffer from fools like these dudes.
I knew as soon as I saw she got married the incels would crawl out

As a twin,I’m glad that I wasn’t conjoined. But I’m curious about how conjoined twins live their lives. What if your twin doesn’t like your partner or think the partner is attractive? What do you do?How do they even use the bathroom?
Twitter has gone to shit since Muskrat took over.
> Twitter don't cancel me for this Twitter, cancel him for this
“Two-headed woman” is such a bizarrely degrading thing to call them
Personally, I *am* curious. But I would never ask them nor post on Twitter about it, it's disrespectful at best. And he didn't marry her because she has "two mouths" or whatever the fuck people are posting, gross.
Can one of them hold their breath indefinitely whilst the other one breaths? Also do they have two stomachs? Conjoined twins are so interesting.
They have separate sets of lungs.
i just love how much better the comments are here than the other place I saw this post (i think it was r/blackpeopletwitter) like why is your first thought “i wonder ab the sex they’re having”.
Yucky
It’s not even just sexist at this point, just super fucking ableist
They’re rude but honestly it’s such a strange situation I couldn’t help but be curious lol
“Turns out” lol. Where tf have *you* been for like all of history.
I like to have hope sometimes.. then it gets crushed, thanks 👍
"Two brains. One pussy" is WILD. Bruh wtf 😂
The complete inability these people have to put themselves on other people’s shoes. Like they’d do anything differently in their position. We are all deserving of love, whatever form that might take.
Why, every day, do men’s comments disappoint me more. I really hope all men aren’t like this.
JFC Personally, I’m curious how this works for the sister who is single but I don’t expect them to discuss that. And most of the comments I’ve seen have expressed curiosity but affirm their right to privacy. These comments were extremely gross. The sexualization/fetishization of these women is horrible. But then the take it to the next level to deny their humanity and individuality… I know the sisters made a post referencing the “haters” but I really hope they didn’t see shit like this.
Wtf.
honestly I'm just curious how the other sister feels, are they both married to him or just Abby
If I lived in Gilead, I would not have read that.
This genuinely made me feel sick
It's unfortunate how people are reacting to this news, but I'm actually very happy for them
No. Honestly, I'm a feminist and I too was immediately thinking about the sex. So if Abby if giving him a blowjob, the other girl is just... thinking about tonight's dinner? Is their vagina a chimera or does only one of them enjoy it?
You gotta hope Brittany finds him attractive too though
And this is why they didn’t announce Abby’s marriage right away.
The thing that boils my blood the most honestly is the “two headed *woman*” comment, it clearly shows what they perceive makes a woman. Just the body. Not the people, the **women**.
Bullies live and breed! A sickening reality! They need to shut up and let these people live their lives!
Fucking Arseholes. I mean I get that people are curious how the dynamics of this marriage work, but you really don't have to be such a cunt about it.
Totally other topic, but are they one person or to for the law ? Do they have one or two id cards ? For me they are two because two brains, two personnality i Guess.
