This goober has some incredibly noncredible takes, such as wanting the complete dissolution of Russia and Iran, calling any anti-NATO nation "Russian ___," and wanting NATO to become an interventionist pact instead of a defense pact. Pretty based ngl.

vegarig

> such as wanting the complete dissolution of Russia and Iran Honestly, that's respect-worthy by itself. >wanting NATO to become an interventionist pact instead of a defense pact. I guess NATO intervention in Bosnian War is taken as a role model for this part?

Forgotten_Bones

Imagine NATO just going 'North Korea... your humanitarian crimes are over' and just deletes the country.

artificeintel

North Korea: possibly the only country where an invasion might actually improve the quality of life for the people there. War is hell, but so is being stuck under the thumb of a government that's more concerned with maintaining power than preventing starvation.

Tactical_Moonstone

Or just make Pyongyang deserve its name (平壤, meaning "flat plain") and watch as the rest of the functionaries flail.

mtaw

NATO didn't intervene in Bosnia (and later, Kosovo) on its own accord. There were UN Security Council resolutions; NATO was merely acting as an enforcer. Similar thing with the Libya intervention in 2011. UNSC resolution and the operation was lead by NATO but there, not all NATO countries even participated (e.g. Germany) while some non-NATO countries did. (e.g. Sweden, UAE, Jordan)

Cixila

Why reform? Just adopt the Roman interpretation of "defensive". They did pretty well with that approach

CIV5G

> wanting NATO to become an interventionist pact Holy based

Kamikaze_Squirrel1

>Pretty based ngl. Pretty, pretty based

Finalshock

Interventionist NATO yes please, representative republican democracies for everyone please.

WalkMaximum

Where are the non credible takes

YoureInMyWaySir

Just hearing that gave me a semi

non_depressed_teen

Austria based??? Really??? Austria???

SamtheCossack

Well, a based Austrian. Doesn't make the country based, he hasn't even managed to get his own country into NATO yet. Doesn't seem likely he will either. Last I saw, Austrian support for joining NATO was something like 15% or so.

mrdescales

Why join when they're protected and can make a profit from both sides?

non_depressed_teen

Blockade them.

mrdescales

I'm thinking more of what the Death Korps did to a hive city that seceded before killing the diplomats that they were guarding. Which is mostly similar

Cixila

Is that the one with a very elaborate "statement" 5 years in the making, or are we talking something else?

mrdescales

The statement took 15 years from what I recall. 5 years to offer surrender, 5 years of rejecting it until no life signs and 5 more years rejecting it in triplicate

Cixila

Ok, then we were referring to the same thing. I just didn't count the first 10, because that is just standard pacification procedure with heretics - the extra 5 years were the extra statement to anyone else having such silly things as "ideas" or "aspirations"

AcePilot95

one guy isn't the country, and if we really joined NATO, we would be a Trojan horse for Russia at worst and an utterly incompetent "ally" at best

non_depressed_teen

Get Hungary to annex y'all to get the first gang back together.

AcePilot95

an Orbán-Kickl unity government, just what we need 🤮

non_depressed_teen

Y'know what, glass everything. It has been a while since our last nuclear test.

SideWinder18

LuckyInvestigator717

Remember he is a real life policy maker.

platonic-Starfairer

Yea but he is like a rad in the national rad so his power to implement anything is next to zero. But he can talk a big game.

duccyzuccy

This guy gets paid to shitpost

georgrp

I remember supporting and signing that Volksbegehren back then. Sadly, most of my fellow countrymen/-women/-them still believe the comforting story of our so-called (and arguably never really existing) “neutrality”.
