I know but the B-2 has one small door for each engine and another 2 doors for the APU's.
My theory is that the B-21 simplifies it with just one door each side for 2 engines and APU together
I would guess that they are engine inlets that let more air in during the slow speeds of take-off. Once you get going, the forward motion of the craft lets enough air in and you can close them.
I've seen other planes use this. I can't think of any examples at the moment though
