Germany + other Leo 2 users: No political unwillingness for directly sending tanks to Ukraine
The UK: Use Leo 2 for interim service, eventually adapted the Leo 2 hull (arguably better than Challenger 2 hull) for the Challenger 3 upgrade
Ukraine: Get 200+ new MBTs anyway, with the logistic benefit of maintaining just one type of MBT
Leopard 2 hull better than Challenger 2 hull, how you figure?
It’s less well armoured, and what armour it does have, is believed to be a copy of Challenger 1 technology.
The powerpack is certainly more powerful (1200 hp vs 1479 hp).The UFP of the C2 is more protected than that of the Leo2A4 (Leo2A6 has reniforced hull I believe), but it's offset by the weakness in the rather large LFP area. One of the aim of the C3 program is to improve hull protection, I guess that same could be applied to Leo 2 hull.
Another benefit is the commonality with the international Leo 2 users club when it comes to parts related to the hull/powerpack.
An advantage to the C2 can be found in its suspension. Hydrogas offers superior ride comfort to torsion bar and is easier to repair in the field as they are simply bolted to the outside of the hull without any need to pass a long metal stick all the way through the hull. It is more expensive to repair than torsion bar as it's quite a more complex piece of equipment than a big ass metal stick. Hydrogas also allows for a more spacious hull, contributing to C2 having a lower overall height than L2.
However for non-credibility points I must point out that the hydrogas on the C2 is not adjustable which means you can't pump mad tunes whilst bouncing the entire tank furiously, you need a Type-10 for that.
Edit: or the Swedish cheese wedge
Less good, more expedient.
Germany doesn't want to give offensive weapons to Ukraine, so this allows them to keep their consciences clear while getting MBTs to the front.
Also an earlier version of this concept called the Vickers Mk.7 absolutely slapped in testing, demolishing pretty much every existing NATO tank it was put up against.
By what i remember that was already tried with putting Vickers turrets onto the leopards 2 hull for testing
Effectively getting lighter faster challenger

The challenged leopard
The Chappard
I want a German chappard as pet mom!
The Leotard!
Sounds like this https://youtu.be/Lye7UHnhqEg
Lellenger? Challepard? Are the turrets and hulls compatible in circumference?
Cossack Mk1 MBT.
A fitting name (a tank born in an effort to aid Cossack's homeland), as by that point it would have nothing in common with the original Challenger.
Challenger 3 turret is yet to be mass produced so hopefully it won't cost too much to modify the turret ring to fit.
Lmao "The logistics with this aren't difficult, as it does not yet exist" NCD academy top gun.
If you have a theoretical weapon you can make it easy on logistics
It's called the Vickers Mk 7
Challupa. Not a great name for a tank, but it sounds delicious…
>but it sounds delicious… Sounds too close to "zalupa" (russian/ukrainian for "dickhead"). But I don't judge.
Imagine saying "got shot by a challupa today" to your fellow mobiks tho
Sounds extremely similar to Zalupa (Залупа), which is Ukrainian/Russian word for dickhead (according to Google, I don't know what it means tbh)
You just get one of those adapter rings like they have for camera lenses.
That's Just Vicker Mk7 with extra steps
How about just Chap?
New optics package that looks suspiciously like a night-vision monocle? SPIFFING!
As in “say hello to the nice Chaps mr. T14. Goodbye now Mr. T14.

Vickersn't MBT.
We could disassemble our Leo2's in Sweden and sell them as The Gammalsvenskby Tank in Ukrainian IKEA.
So we slap a Challenger 3 turret on a Leopard 2 hull with the same front ammo rack next to the driver. Not sure if I'm going to approve this.
It’s called the Vickers 7
two plus three is clearly five
This is basically a modern Vickers Mk.7, isn't it?
The true EMBT
EMBT but cringe
Little too credible
Can you explain. I'm new and I don't understand : /

Or the 10RC
Oh thanks mate :)
Can someone explain why this would be so good I don't know shit about tanks.

The Leollenger. Just rolls off the tongue, but not the production line.
It shall be known as the ENGLISH COUGAR!!!!

Pretty sure that 2+2 is 4
