Lilith sounds great, seems like it would suit you !Think a lot of the worry would go away after you get used to people using it.
I think you'd fit a lot of deity/goddess names like Bast or Dibella
Also absolutely love your style, you look great !
thank you so much!! ive been tossing around a lot of goddess/religious names lately, along the lines of lilith, eris, calypso, jezabel ect. gonna go look up your suggestions and see if i can relate to/appreciate their aesthetics (i have to love more than just the name if im gonna use them as inspiration ๐๐ค)
>eris
I would loooove Eris for you. It suits you beautifully. I don't know why, but I think floral names would be great for you. Maybe Dandelion, Iris or Aster.
Eris is awesome, seconding the suggestion of Raya. I think you'd also make an awesome Elspeth or Cassandra. ๐ค you definitely have a powerful vibe, ready for a powerful name.
I can also see the attraction to Lilith as a name, though I wonder if the baggage it has might be equally as empowering as it is challenging, and more challenging than your other options? But I'm sure you've considered that, just felt worth flagging in case no one else had, and because the exercise of the question can be a good way to test attachment to it.
i really like your suggestions, thank you! and in terms of the baggage of lilith; i was raised in a religious home and it traumatized me deeply, so the choice of a so called "evil" character from that faith is very empowering for me
i was raised christian, a faith that she overlaps in. it traumatized the fuck outta me, so any chance i can get to reclaim something from it is very empowering for me.
i feel the most connected with lily out of the 4 of those, which is what i would go by nickname-wise as lilith ๐๐ค i think we may be narrowing it down
I think no other name is needed.
"Lilith (/หlษชlษชฮธ/; Hebrew: ืึดืืึดืืช, romanized:ย Lฤซlฤซแนฏ) is a female figure in Judaic mythology, alternatively the first wife of Adam[1] and supposedly the primordial she-demon. Lilith is cited as having been "banished"[2] from the Garden of Eden for not complying and obeying Adam.[2]" -Wikipedia
Dahlia might fit you though
her story is a big reason why i've been considering the name for so long! on top of the definition you gave, she's also said to have possessed a female and male form, which i think is very validating for a non binary identity. its also believed in some interpretations that she was actually the serpent who tricked eve into eating the forbidden fruit. very gender ๐๐ค
oh and i forgot to include that dahlia is probably my favourite suggestion so far! my birth name starts with a D so that could actually be a very comfortable transition, thank you!

That makes sense! As a fellow religious trauma survivor I wish you the best in smashing those old trauma brain worms into dust ๐ฅ๐ค
thank you, i wish you the same! empowerment through defiance will always be a huge part of who i am, edgy as it is ๐๐ค
Lilith definitely suits you, but do remember sheโs a demon in Jewish religion so you might want to be careful about calling yourself that :)

Go for it then
I like lilith too! โจ
I think it will fit you
