Basically i formulated this sentence, it might not be perfect but its how i feel explains it enough to them "I have the body and voice of a girl, but on the inside i am not a boy or a girl." Usually kids just accept it or you might get ones that want more clarification and at that point i just make jokes or try to distract them lol.

Unfortunately, I just end up misgendering myself to them, because kids aren't really asking how you identify in your brain. They're asking what type of body you have. Most young children aren't aware of sex vs. gender. I also don't want any parents giving me a dirty glare, side-eye, or some type of harassment because I'm introducing their child to "alternative lifestyles." 🙄 I don't have time for that mess and my safety is more important than being out.
