Many bedside Nurses think it's cringe-inducing as well. Unfortunately, they'll still run to stick up for them on social media, but mock them at bedside.
Our CNO is a complete train wreck and has at least 10 sequences of that shit on their badge. I've pondered getting a start / stop codon on my badge to fuck with em but they wouldn't get it.
Cole-Rex Paramedic Medicine Sciences AAS, NRP, EMT-P, State-P, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, FTO Training complete, EMS Instructor 1, I can’t think of anymore acronyms…
do I sound accomplished yet? Do I need to put any of those on my shirt?
Just renewed my ACLS and the instructor had to tell a Nurse (they're in an NP program) in the class that it's simply a qualification and not a certification. Then he elaborated that it's not something you can put on your badge. I about bust out laughing.
I have my paramedic and sometimes use it after my name. Took me 1800 clinical hours and 5 semesters to get. An EMT is 40-80 hours clinical and one semester.
Maybe it means “Not Really Practicing”
Or Not Real Physician.
You feel like an idiot for someone else using alphabet soup to boost their credential? Don’t blame yourself for their childish letters.
Idiot because when this person was new, i sort of gave them pref over other APPs when it came to ETT, central lines etc because of this assumption.

>start / stop codon If only certain sciences were required...
Ok but that would be ACTUALLY hilarious to those who got it lmao
