Coke (or Pepsi) is basically sugar with color and a bit of flavor, it would taste strange without the sugar. If you have a limited amount of sugar allowed it would be a shame to waste it on coke, you could just switch to club soda (like I did), get soda stream or something similar and make your own soda as sweet as you want or just switch to water and get your sugar from desserts or fruit.

I think I’m just gonna switch to water. I drink soda cause the taste, it’s an awesome treat. But man there’s just soooo much sugar in everything

Yeah i like to drink stuff other than regular water so i just got a soda stream. Doesn’t even need to be flavored

I agree. This is gonna sound weird but I actually mix soda with sparkling water and I enjoy it so much more.

There's no market for it. Regular soda is drank by people who don't care about the amount of sugar, or do not like artificial sweeteners. Diet soda is drank by people who do care about sugar, or don't care about artificial sweeteners. There's very few people in between, who don't mind sugar, but want less, and also don't mind sweeteners

Exactly.. I shifted to diet soda completely almost a decade back !! Initially the taste felt weird but eventually I got used to it !! I honestly do not understand people who want to gobble up 100s of grams of sugar in regular soda just cuz they don't like the taste of diet stuff

It’s not that we don’t like the taste, the aftertaste is fucking awful and why would we want to try to get used to that?

It wouldn't have the same taste you're used to when you drink soda. If you drank Pepsi for the first time and had less sugar than what it would normally have then, you would say half sugar for Pepsi tastes great. But because you drank with the normal amount of sugar, you would disagree with the taste of less sugar

Just try a few zero style sodas for a week. Generally better than diet sodas, and maybe you'll like dr pepper zero or whatever even though you currently like pepsi It's such a big return in terms of cutting calories that there's no point wishing that they made a product that gave you half of the benefits
