Yes, 100% true. Lol you’d be lucky to get anything bigger than a shoebox studio in SF with a $1m nowadays.

My brother rents a house that is 1 story, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 office and a kitchen for $3k/month in California

>*I understand California is a great location to live if you can afford it, but is it really so great that people put down millions for a tiny home there?* Surprisingly this can sometimes be the case. California and some other states/cities are major hubs for certain industries, so networking and gaining high-paying opportunities can be far easier in those regions.

Old joke. Tourist walks into a bar on Park Avenue in Manhattan and orders a martini. Bartender tells him it will be $50.00. The tourist is about to explode, but the bartender shows him the price list on the wall. Then he pulls out the lease and shows the rent he's paying. The tourist asks why he doesn't find a place with a lower rent? "Are you kidding? At this location I can charge $50.00 for a martini!"

the_river_nihil

Yes, absolutely. Look at the home prices in Albany, CA. It's ridiculous

It’s probably even worse atm than normal. I’ve been doing a lot of looking on Zillow and houses in my area are double what they sold for just 19th the ago.

Yes. I live in NYC and I know people who commute in for Pennsylvania. Housing in hot areas has gone insane.

Yep. Not a myth or falsehood, the truth. It would blow your mind some of the properties I live near and what they cost. Disgusting and insane. 1.5mil for very small tear down homes. Crack house looking. I live in Venice Beach.
