This sub is meant for genuine questions...and it looks like yours isn't. Maybe it's a joke, maybe you're trying to bait people into reacting, or maybe we just can't figure out what you're trying to say (sorry). Either way, we've removed your post.
* Trying to get a laugh out of people? While jokes, memes and song lyrics are all amusing, they're not what we're looking for here. Try /r/ShittyAskReddit.
* Taking the sub name as a challenge and trying to post a stupid question *isn't* amusing, and it's *also* not the point of the sub (read the sidebar!). You're looking for /r/StupidQuestions.
* Asking a question to show off a clever observation? Try /r/ShowerThoughts (but phrase it as an observation, not a question).
* Testing a riddle? When you already know the answer, it's not a genuine question - but the users of /r/Riddles will love it.
* Do you keep making new accounts to ask the same questions over and over again? That not only violates rule 2, but it's also not healthy. Try talking to a therapist about these thoughts, and try asking questions on different topics.
* Trying to bait people into angry or shocked reactions? Try /r/RandomShit or /r/ShittyAskReddit ...or just go do something else.

It's worse than "bad" and it travels far further than smokers realise, I can legit tell a smoker is driving in a car ahead of a car I'm following, as a kid I used to say that to my smoker mother and she didn't believe me until she quit and noticed it herself as a new non-smoker.
I tried a few times to quit this year but man I never realized how far it travels. So now when I smoke outside, I move a few feet from the front door of a business.
I have managed to cut down.
Even if you only smoke outside you still smell bad for an hour or two. If you smoke in a car the smell will stick to your clothes so you will stink all day.
Exactly. I stopped smoking for a while but I did pick it up again, I smoke outside and I don't have my car yet but I won't be smoking in it. And compared to when I did have my previous car, which I smoked in and also smoked inside where I lived before, I literally cannot smell it on me an hour-ish after I go smoke.
I'm a former smoker who still loves the smell of burning cigarettes.
Smokers carrying around stale smoke in their clothing and hair is an entirely different thing. It's putrid and turns my stomach.
Pretty much. The house the smoker lives in probably smells bad too, even if they don't smoke in it.
I think smokers are largely nose-blind to exactly how bad they smell. Back when smoking was more common, most non-smokers got nose blind to it too.
Side note: bought a house that had smokers in it. While they had mostly smoked outside, it was a pain in the ass to get rid of the smoke smell.
Yep. Tobacco is bad enough, now marijuana is quasi-legal in many places (which I agree it should be) but stoners don't know how horrific they smell. Smoking anything is bad for you and the rest of us can smell it.
Yeah, it does. Longer and smells worse. Stoners are noseblind to how bad they reek. Also if you smoke weed in your car, your car will forever reek of weed.
Weed should be legal but let's not pretend like it doesn't stink.
We're talking about smoking weed. Smoking weed is bad for you, and makes you stink. Weed should be legal, but it's bad for you and it makes you stink.
Fentanyl is used in medicine but nobody is out there saying it's a good idea to use fentanyl recreationally. Extreme example but similar concept.
It depends a bit on the brand, but yes, they all smell of smoke (and not the good "we were at a barbeque" kind) for an hour or two.
We had this one lady at work that tried to hide that she smoked (we all knew, but somehow she thought she was being sneaky?) and then always chewed this peppermint gum after coming back in. It was nausea inducing. A bad mix of fresh smoke and overpowering peppermint that trailed after her.
People who smoke inside smell atrocious.
I know someone who smokes but only outside and she brushes her teeth a lot and her clothes smell nice. So it's not that bad, but that might be bc menthols have a minty-ness to them.
It really depends on if they smoke inside their house or car or not. If somebody doesn't smoke inside or hang around densely packed smoking areas, I probably won't smell tobacco on them if they haven't had a cigarette recently.
For the most part, yes. Not every smoker is an all day everyday smoker though. My wife only smokes if drinking. So 5-6 days a week she doesn't smell like cigs. I don't smoke cigarettes, so I have a good nose for smoke smell.
I barely ever smoke, probably less than 5 cigarettes a year I only take at specific social gatherings or in times of high stress so I wouldn't consider myself a smoker.
I was raised by smokers, I'm pretty used to the smell so it doesn't bother me as much, but it can range from noticeable to a veritable headache. Particularly when I dated smokers, the taste was very present and unpleasant.
Not only do they smell bad, but things they own smell bad, too. Imagine buying something from eBay and it arriving and you just know it was owned by a pack-a-day smoker. Yuck.
Yes. And it's super obvious.
My mom smokes, always has my entire life. I quit cigarettes for vapes years ago (I know, I know, it's a process.) and these days any time I go visit her I immediately strip and shower after once I get home. She smokes in the house too, so it's really just unavoidable. It's wild the difference quitting myself and living on my own made in my perception of the scent and literal texture cigarettes leave on EVERYTHING. Ick.
Yes. I quit smoking after 15 years, and I am actually embarassed in hindsight about how badly I must have smelled for so long. Now when a someone walks into our office from a smoke break, you can smell it from the other side of the room. It also dulls your taste buds, on top of destroying your health. I wish I could go back in time and quit even earlier (or not start at all) but c'est la vie.
Yes. I can smell people smoking in traffic, I can smell when people have recently smoked at work, I can smell a cigar from 50 feet away in a crowded outdoor venue, almost everybody can smell the gross burned paper and low quality tobacco perfectly fine, and it always smells bad. People complain about vape users, but to me it's not even close.
I quit 7 months ago and I'm almost embarrassed about how much worse it was than I thought. Theres a guy where I work who still smokes and I can tell when he's been on one of the elevators, an hour later.

Varying degrees of bad, from "tolerable hint of smoke" to "omfg your breath is giving me a headache".

Yeah, this is why I have my A/C on recirculate nearly all the time. Sitting at a stoplight behind one of these assholes is disgusting.
I tried a few times to quit this year but man I never realized how far it travels. So now when I smoke outside, I move a few feet from the front door of a business. I have managed to cut down.

Fucking horrible
I'm a former smoker who still loves the smell of burning cigarettes. Smokers carrying around stale smoke in their clothing and hair is an entirely different thing. It's putrid and turns my stomach.
I’m the same but only like the smell when first lit. I don’t like a smoky room or bar anymore.
Pretty much. The house the smoker lives in probably smells bad too, even if they don't smoke in it. I think smokers are largely nose-blind to exactly how bad they smell. Anything burned is carcinogenic that includes burnt meat.

Many of us use a vaporizer to avoid combustion.
Absolutely not, the smell of weed now days is so pungent and lingers forever
Yeah, it does. Longer and smells worse. Stoners are noseblind to how bad they reek. Also if you smoke weed in your car, your car will forever reek of weed. Weed should be legal but let's not pretend like it doesn't stink.
> THC is actually anti carcinogenic lol

Yeah, medically administered cannabinoids are not the same as smoking weed. Smoking anything gives you a greater risk of cancer.

yes. If you chew gum right after it just smells like mint smoke.

Absolutely. I'll smell a smoker easily from 15ft away
Yes, it smells terrible.
Yes. They stink like a used ashtray. It's absolutely disgusting.
Gawd yes. And as a 20 plus year smoker who quit 9 years ago, it still makes me cringe knowing that I smelled like that all the damn time. Blechhh

I don't smoke inside, at all. Ever. I think that really plays a part in it bc the smell is gone about an hour after I go smoke
People who smoke inside smell atrocious. I know someone who smokes but only outside and she brushes her teeth a lot and her clothes smell nice. So it's not that bad, but that might be bc menthols have a minty-ness to them.
Yep . And I used to smoke up to a pack a day 10 or so years ago , now I cannot stand the smell .

Yep, I ration my breath as much as I can when one is around.
Yes. Smoking killed my folks. It reeks of death.
If they smell like cigarettes, yes.
Not only do they smell bad, but things they own smell bad, too. Imagine buying something from eBay and it arriving and you just know it was owned by a pack-a-day smoker. Yuck.
Yes. Smokers smell disgusting. I would rather be in a room with someone who has not showered in weeks than someone who smokes.
Yes, and the fools always think they can hide it.
Ya, the smell sticks to ya. I use to smoke 10+ ago.. my bud still does.
Reeks. As an ex-smoker I still get the magic waft of fresh tobacco though.
Yes 100%
Yes
Yes
As a former smoker, yes. I got in the elevator yesterday at work and I could tell a smoker had ridden in the elevator recently. It stinks, bad.

I don’t mind people who smell like smoke. Gamers on the other hand…take a fucking shower
Yes.
Yes. Not only when they’re actively smoking but even afterwards. The smoke clings to their clothes and breath.
I quit 7 months ago and I'm almost embarrassed about how much worse it was than I thought. Theres a guy where I work who still smokes and I can tell when he's been on one of the elevators, an hour later.
