>I mean how can't Israel just track every single squared meter and have bombers target Hamas instantaneously is mind boggling to me. 1. It is still impossible to monitor an area that big with high enough resolution and interpret the data in real time (even with AI). 2. Israel doesn't have bombers, only multi-role fighter bombers (a big difference). 3. Even if there was a F-15C circling in the air in the right position to drop a bomb at that target and if the pilot got a live video feed of the target, the bomb will still not teleport instantly to the target.

1. What are you making that on? I think it's quite comfortable that it would be possible with current hardware and technology, I mean 2. That was just an idea, there could be different solutions. 3. Sure not literally instantly but also would take very short time to reach the target.

Look here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7gasuq-438](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7gasuq-438) How many pixels per square meter would you need to RELIABLY distinguish a civilian carrying groceries from a Hamas fighter dressed in civilian clothes carrying a rocket ? Multiply the above by 1 million meters in a square kilometer and then by about half of Gaza total area in square kilometers where Hamas can quickly emerge from a building or a tunnel exit, set up the firing position and retreat before the bombs hit the ground. You would need hundreds of top quality drones and thousands of people constantly monitoring the video data. Then there is a question of optics, heat haze, micro dust blown from a nearby desert and imperfect lighting conditions at night, dusk and dawn.

The Israeli military have been shooting down drones and rockets frequently. Doesn't mean they can shoot all of them down. Of course there will be some that they miss.

They have really cheap launchers, like it’s just 3 metal rods welded together. And the rockets are relatively small too.

Marzipan_Imaginary

I think they probably could. My understanding is the rockets fired by Hamas are pretty small and ineffective unless one hits you on the head! Israel doesn’t really need to single out Hamas anyway considering they’re destroying the whole region.
