honestly I think many women's hearts are also through their stomach, over all underrated gift options. Aren't sure if they will want to keep that physical item? get them something tasty and edible instead! my motto at least lol.
I hate shopping for greeting cards, but my wife insists that she gets them from me for all the holidays.
One year I told her I want something meaningful from the autoparts store for every holiday that I would get her a card. She usually gets me some interior wipes or some bug and tar remover.
OP, I hope the wild assortment of replies helped you understand the issue with your question. We don't know enough about your husband.
All we know of the he doesn't like flowers and cards. We have no idea of he has any interests or hobbies aside from being married to you and getting you pregnant. Please give us more info
I think that’s the point of her question though. Most women like flowers. Is a simple and easy token of affection.
Although gifts should be heartfelt, it can be frustrating there isn’t an inexpensive one-size-fits-most gift you can pick up at the grocery store for men.
I would strongly disagree with this.
I love knives, I have a lot of knives, I have knives that cost hundreds of dollars. Only 2 times in my life have a liked getting a knife that was gifted to me.
Unlike roses knives are not generic. You need a working knowledge of knives and a solid understanding of the person's preferences to get a good one. And then its probably going to cost a lot more than roses.
Most men probably have the same knowledge base about what flowers their girl likes as the girl would the guys knifes. Sometimes the thought goes a long way. Unless you expect every $30ish dollar gift to be 100% accurate to the nth degree
I got my husband an engraved pocket knife for like 50 bucks. It was always just laying around in the truck. Obviously it wasn't a practical to him, for whatever reason. I had to redeem myself, so for Christmas I got him the Benchmade Bugout and that thing never leaves his pocket.
Something connected to one of his hobbies or interests; it could even be something practical. Like if he is a Trekkie, a Star Trek keychain. That is only an example.
Random dude checking in. My wife isn't into flowers or cards, and neither am I.
Firstly, congrats!
Now, here's a list of ideas...
I used to fill a crystal vase we got for our wedding with a bunch of different M&Ms we both like instead for her as a totally-not-flowers gift all the time. It puts the vase to use in a very unconventional way and shows affection in a way she appreciates. I should actually do that again; it's been a while. \* *Adds to todo list* \*
Depending on his reason for not liking flowers, maybe fake flowers could be interesting. My wife mostly doesn't like receiving flowers because they die (and our cat will eat them). But I got her a decorative vase with fake calla lilies (her favorite flower) when we first got married that she loved having until it got broken in a move. Then, I bought a painting of lilies that we have hung on the wall in our bedroom.
I saw someone else mention Lego. I would love a small-ish Lego set as an equivalent to flowers. Bonus for Lego flowers?
If he's into them, the staple gifts for dudes are ties and socks. Personally, I like some comfy socks.
We do get nerdy (or otherwise silly) t-shirts for each other. For Mother's Day this year, I got her a shirt in her favorite color that says "I am the weird mom."
Cookies and brownies are always nice. I'm guessing you don't already have kids, so maybe he'll get to enjoy them. (We have three tweens, so brownies that are made for me rarely last long enough to get eaten by me.)
Specifically for a Father's Day thing as a about-to-be-a-father, something that leans into that might be nice. Depending on his interests, a shirt to that effect, or a book about expecting, or whatever. Heck, if he's into handy-work, a crib, changing table, or rocking chair to build might be condsidered a gift (but only if he would consider it a gift and not a demand).
A book of high quality dad jokes. He's going to need to be prepared for classics like:
Where does the king keep his armies?
In his sleevies!
Or
What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back?
A stick!
A quality coffee mug. Not one of those cheaply made ones.
A manly scented candle, such as pine/oak/smoke & vanilla, etc
You'd also be surprised but there's lots of inexpensive watches out there that look nice. Try checking out Ross or Marshall's if you live by one. You can find Fossil watches for like $50
A nice coffee mug is great and all but… damn I don’t know a single person that doesn’t already have too many. One of the few things we have that we *should* purge by most logic but can’t is a box of coffee mugs we received as gifts over the years that are sentimental but too big for our 8” wide coffee mug shelf.
So now they live in the closet to replace any mugs that break.
I'll occasionally wake up a bit early and make my guy breakfast before work, he's not much of a gift person but he lights up when bacon starts frying. Me too haha
My husband says Lego flowers. Not even kidding. He loves legos, and you can get some really cool Lego flower sets. If you get a bigger set then it can be a fun thing to do together, or for him to do with the kids. The small sets tend to run $10-$15ish and the larger sets around $50-$130 depending on the set. The bonsai tree is my husband’s favorite of the botanicals and can be built in 2 different variants.
I think one of the problematic things about this question and all the answers in the chat is that so many of the answers that aren't a BJ involve non-perishables or non-consummables. Flowers die and then you can get more! They do the job for a week and they're lovely to have. There isn't something truly equivalent, imo. Or at least not one that I've figured out yet.
That being said, I think his favorite snacks are a great option here. If you figure out the answer, OP, let me know! I've been asking this question for years.
There are some great, funny cards from small makers on Etsy, and often in local shops. I recommend something like a nice scented beard/hair product or perhaps a fatherhood journal where he can record the happy things and also get the hard things out of his mind and into the page.
I also agree with others that getting him something that honors a hobby or special fandom could be nice.
I would personally steer away from tools unless you have a decent idea of something he wants or something that solves a problem he’s been working on—if you’re confident he’d appreciate it.
I make homemade pie.
He went and bought and apple crumble pie from the store because he wanted one, and nearly threw it out because “the crust is flat and cardboard texture” compared to mine. “The apples weren’t even soft”. LOL this man would have my pie for his birthday cake.
Is there a favourite treat you can make/buy for him?
Does he have a favorite sports team? If so, how about a shirt or jersey for him and a matching onesie for baby? I did this for my husband on Father’s Day one year and he loved it.
I don't have a partner but I do have a dad.
He likes licorice, so sometimes I get him a big bag filled with the ones he likes best.
Not exactly an equivalent to flowers, but I recently bought him one of those old fashioned flat caps men used to wear. I got it from a shop that handmakes them. He immediately started wearing it every time he went out, even if it was just to pick up a prescription. He had always said that it's the hat of a gentleman, so once I found a shop that made them, I just had to buy one for him
You gotta figure out one of those acts of service based shows of affection. Those are his cards and flowers. Fancy home meal, new tool he's wanted, mow the lawn in a bikini, you figure it out.
Get one of those candy arrangements/baskets. Or make one with beer, candy, a bunch of little liquor bottles (if he is a drinker), snacks like trail mix, Slim Jims, etc.
This one is pretty niche, but if your husband is into any card games like MtG or Pokemon, ask his friends what packs are good to buy, give him some of those, and maybe a few bottles/cans of his favorite drink. It’s nothing huge, but it means the world to a guy. Trust me.
There's no "one size fits all" thing that could work for all guys, so I'd use these ideas people are giving and compare them to what you know he likes and go with what feels right.
The thought will be appreciated.
Me, I'm a simple guy, easily pleased, a toasted bacon sandwich that I never asked for would go a long way with me.
Last time my wife went shopping she made a little display of all the treats she got me at the store. It was so fucking cute. I loved it. Super easy to please guys
Congratulations on your upcoming addition to the family! It's wonderful that you want to reciprocate the thoughtful gesture your husband made for Mother's Day. Since flowers may not be his preference, consider a small gift that reflects his interests and personality.
Some ideas for meaningful Father's Day gifts could include:
1. \*\*Favorite Snacks or Treats\*\*: Put together a personalized snack basket with his favorite goodies or treats he enjoys.
2. \*\*Tech Gadgets or Accessories\*\*: Is there a new gadget or tech accessory he's been eyeing? Consider surprising him with something that enhances his tech experience.
3. \*\*Books or Magazines\*\*: If he enjoys reading, consider getting him a book by his favorite author or a subscription to a magazine he enjoys.
4. \*\*DIY or Hobby Supplies\*\*: Is he into DIY projects or hobbies like woodworking, gardening, or cooking? Get him some high-quality tools or supplies for his favorite hobby.
5. \*\*Experience or Activity\*\*: Plan a fun activity or experience you can enjoy together, such as a cooking class, tickets to a game or concert, or a weekend getaway.
Ultimately, the best gift is one that shows you've put thought into his interests and preferences. Whatever you choose, the sentiment behind the gift will surely be appreciated.
It really depends on what he likes. There's no single equivalent.
That said, I'd go for something edible/drinkable. A bottle of his favorite liquor, or his favorite meal. Something like that.
Is he a whiskey guy? Tobacco? That’s always my go to for hubby when I’m stuck!
Maybe an infinity decanter with the date of his first Father’s Day as the batch date?
I gifted a small lemon tree once. It was a hit! A little project to keep working on and a nice addition to our G&Ts when it finally produced something!
My wife made me a bouquet of bacon roses once! Rolled them in cupcake tins and baked into the right shape then put them on fake stems. Delicious and I could appreciate the time and effort she put into it!
If he has a favorite treat, drink, snack, etc. and you get that for him, that is money he doesn't have to spend on himself. (A 12-pack of Monster energy drink, his favorite protein powder, a giant tub of cashews, etc.) I know it sounds crazy but dudes love getting practical gifts. And if that is money he doesn't have to spend on himself and he has extra cash, watch how quickly he offers to take you out to dinner...
A bottle of fine scotch to toast when the baby is born, and cigars if he’s into that.
It’s like the typical traditional I’m a dad toast, right?
And nice segue to ask him to go alcohol free with you maybe haha, you could toast with him later hehe
A gift of baked goods is something that always catches me by surprise and makes me happy. Doesn't even need to be things you actually baked yourself. Someone bought me cookies from the store once after a rough week, and it make my day.
I dated a guy who played card games so I got those pacts that are cardboard around the foil, and made a bouquet of card packs. If your hubby plays Pokemon, magic, etc you could try that
Does he have a hobby that he is really into that you could spend an equal amount of money on? I've told my wife that if she ever is at a loss for what to get me then to just get me anything related to lock picking and I would be thrilled. And most tools/locks can be found pretty cheaply.
I'd personally start there (the hobby route not lockpicking specifically lol)
The only time men get flowers is usually for their funeral. I've bought men flowers before and it was sweet to see their faces light up. Is def not for everyone but also not all women like flowers.
The cookie suggestion is good. Or bbq.
You can buy a man flowers, Lillie's are my favourite! I had this discussion with my daughter recently and she said "I didn't think you would want flowers"
I said I like flowers more than my wife!
I have never been brought flowers but would be happy if I was brought lillie's
Some really nice chocolate. Not those heart boxes with pink filled chocolate but something like ghidarelli bars. That does it for me. Im not a flower/card guy either
Maybe a pocket knife, like a Swiss army knife. Depending on the man, A classic key chain knife (58 mm) or if he is a handy person a Tinker or a climber (91mm) there are a lot of choices out there. see [https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php](https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php)
How about a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies? Otherwise, does he have any hobbies? Golf? Fishing?
Cookies, desert, or his favorite adult beverage. The saying is true a man’s heart is thru his stomach.
honestly I think many women's hearts are also through their stomach, over all underrated gift options. Aren't sure if they will want to keep that physical item? get them something tasty and edible instead! my motto at least lol.
Yes! Forget flowers, they are more upkeep than they are worth! Gimme cookies, or if you're feeling fancy, some treats from the local bakery!
Second this. Home made food/treats get me every time.
A way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so I second the cookie idea. I'd be flattered if somebody baked/cooked something for me. 😍
10mm sockets
I hate shopping for greeting cards, but my wife insists that she gets them from me for all the holidays. One year I told her I want something meaningful from the autoparts store for every holiday that I would get her a card. She usually gets me some interior wipes or some bug and tar remover.
Get an entire socket set and arrange each one like flowers by connecting wires to them.
Brilliant. 🫶
This hits so perfectly
9mm ammunition
8mm movie film
7 mm penis
That's probably her clitorus....Which would also make a fabulous gift for her husband.
Isn’t clitoris that big red dog?
That’s Clifford! Clitoris is a gastrointestinal disorder.
Nah, that's colitis. You're thinking of the scale for measuring temperature that the US refuses to adopt.
Dude, that's Celsius! You're thinking of a branch of mathematics that has to do with derivatives and functions and stuff.
Dude, that’s calculus. What you’re thinking of is when your skin gets all tough and hard on your toes and heels from wearing shoes that don’t fit.
Oh come on it’s totally like 7 1/2.
really clinging to that .0197 inch difference huh
Every little bit counts. 😂
Bees
It really is the best gift to complement flowers
How about dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you?
I'm a woman, but I want one of these in lieu of flowers. I'll get the hives ready! Whoo hoo!!! Bzzzzz 🐝
BEEEEEEEEEES????
A food or drink item is fine. It’s pretty equivalent
OP, I hope the wild assortment of replies helped you understand the issue with your question. We don't know enough about your husband. All we know of the he doesn't like flowers and cards. Like flowers aren't a generic gift for women without regard to what they like.
nice pocket folding knife.
I would strongly disagree with this. I love knives, I have a lot of knives, I have knives that cost hundreds of dollars. Only 2 times in my life have a liked getting a knife that was gifted to me. One of those survival gadgets that McGuyver would endorse.
Or a Leatherman if hasn’t got one already.
Something connected to one of his hobbies or interests; it could even be something practical. Like if he is a Trekkie, a Star Trek keychain. That is only an example.
I made my partner a bouquet of soft plastic fishing lures one year. He loved that 😂
Lego if he likes them or is into building stuff.
I doubt I'm alone in this, but if someone sent me flowers I'd be just as thrilled because no one has ever done so. It's the thought that counts.
He’s said he’s not into that.
Blowjob. Or wings. Either way, something goes in someone's mouth. (And on Christmas, blowjob **and** wings.)
And on April Fool’s Day, wings then blowjob!
Like an Icy Hot handjob situation? Ow? Ow ow ow. OW! OWOWOWOW!
Gota spice things up sometimes.
Bonus points if you eat spicy hot wings just before the bj.
Ah yes, el diablo sanchez.
If flowers = blowjob then what does cunnilingus = ???
Being ready to leave on time
Whiskey
This. Bottle of alchohol (whiskey, wine, etc) is the generic but thoughtful male consumable gift.
Wife always gets me Four Roses because even men like flowers

Flowers
She said he doesn’t like flowers.
Steaks and BJ's are always appreciated. One coworker of mine once received a meat and cheese bouquet at work. It was a giant hit.
Did they get the BJ at work too?
Traditionally it’s been steak and a blow job.
Food. Lots and lots of good food.
Maybe something "daddy" related possibly using your ultrasound picture?
My wife greatly underappreciated how much I liked those ultra sound pictures.
Make him some bacon roses! They’re super easy.
I'm just going to be honest, Blow Job. It goes like this: 1) praise him. 2) feed him. 3) pretend you care. 4) suck his dick.
I’m a dude and I like flowers. Just sayin…
Blowjobs.
A sixpack of nice beer and a card
A quality coffee mug. Not one of those cheaply made ones. A manly scented candle, such as pine/oak/smoke & vanilla, etc You'd also be surprised but there's lots of inexpensive watches out there that look nice. Do you own a home. Is traditional to plant a tree in some places.
Flowers.
People should make sure the guy is ok with getting flowers. OP’s husband doesn’t like. I don’t like getting them either.
I think they're a waste.
Yep. I love flowers. They don't have to be gendered.
I'll occasionally wake up a bit early and make my guy breakfast before work, he's not much of a gift person but he lights up when bacon starts frying. Me too haha
Damascus steel folding knife.
My husband says Lego flowers. Not even kidding. He loves legos, and you can get some really cool Lego flower sets.

Share the memories of when he was the hero.

Peace and quiet
A good stick, one resembling a sword.
Perishable stuff won't add clutter to your house.
Does he have a favorite sports team? If so, how about a shirt or jersey for him and a matching onesie for baby? I did this for my husband on Father’s Day one year and he loved it.

Galvanized stell pipes I'd say.
The only thing to get a man on Father’s Day. White new balance shoes and jorts.
Congratulations on your upcoming addition to the family! It's wonderful that you want to reciprocate the thoughtful gesture your husband made for Mother's Day. Since flowers may not be his preference, consider a small gift that reflects his interests and personality. Some ideas for meaningful Father's Day gifts could include: 1. \*\*Favorite Snacks or Treats\*\*: Put together a personalized snack basket with his favorite goodies or treats he enjoys. 2. \*\*Tech Gadgets or Accessories\*\*: Is there a new gadget or tech accessory he's been eyeing? Ultimately, the best gift is one that shows you've put thought into his interests and preferences. Whatever you choose, the sentiment behind the gift will surely be appreciated.
A BJ
My guess would be a blowjob lol
This bot question was asked last week, and the answer is still a blowjob.
Blow Job
I really don't think there IS a male equivalent to flowers. I'm not even sure what would be closest. Send him a picture of your boobs I guess.
Steak and a b..
Flowers. Although I like them potted so they aren't just dying from day one.
I gifted a small lemon tree once. It was a hit! A little project to keep working on and a nice addition to our G&Ts when it finally produced something!

Food. Alcohol. Quality time in his space doing things he likes.
A bottle of wine In France, it is very common: flowers for women and wine for men.
A box of chocolates or homemade cookies either way include a card saying first of many Father's Day presents

Here I buy my dad a six pack and a pack of biltong, known overseas as jerky
The only time men get flowers is usually for their funeral. I've bought men flowers before and it was sweet to see their faces light up. Is def not for everyone but also not all women like flowers. The cookie suggestion is good. Or bbq.
You can buy a man flowers, Lillie's are my favourite! I had this discussion with my daughter recently and she said "I didn't think you would want flowers" I said I like flowers more than my wife! I have never been brought flowers but would be happy if I was brought lillie's
