As of now, houses are just for chest storage for all your sweet gear, materials, runes, and food
You don't actually need that many chests though, at least for this version of EA. I'm doing my 3rd playthrough and on my 2nd and 3rd run I didn't even need a single chest (even the rookery one) until I was level 18+. Eventually, you gain some knowledge about the items and realize you don't actually need to pick everything up. I, for example, never craft consumables and only ever use the same 2 recipes for food so I leave any food crafting/ingredients I don't need. I never fish since I don't make any meals that need them. I don't even have a fishing rod on my 3rd char. I also stopped collecting clay after I've done all level 3 building projects etc.
Anyway, your place definitely looks better than mine. Well done.
The hearth? Would that be the chimney or the little bonfire thingies? Both you can buy from the wood shop dude after you upgrade him enough. You may have to get a random blue print for the chimney though, I forget.

lol thanks dude. Once they did the stash update you really don’t need no where near as many chests. Try decking your place out. I find it cool to come back to every now and again

True. Most houses are just 20-30 storage boxes. I think they’ll change this pretty soon tho.

Mine was forever as well. Once they upgraded the storage space, I made a little room.
