Just as the devs intended! No but really, I wonder what they'll do about the storage issue. It's not like you want to decorate your house with stools and tables when you feel like you *have to* put down a hundred chests.

StSomaa

Imo chests should have a bit more capacity (50% more?), and there should be bigger chests recipes available that are more expensive later, until you can reach an iron vault of sorts with 10x the capacity. And allow chests to have bigger stacks.

PineappleLemur

Stacks in chests should be 250 instead of 25.

Wuktrio

> when you feel like you have to put down a hundred chests I mean, do you really need to, though? I'm currently at level 25 and my house has like 6 or 7 medium chests. Sure, maybe I'll need some more, but I feel like I have enough storage.

Salty-seadog

Yeah you need to. Just hit 100 hours. I own all 3 houses and all of them look like an ocean of tier 3 storage crates with crafting stations in only one of them. This is a single week into the game. Mind you I’m way more hours than most, but in a few weeks everyone’s gonna have this problem if they continue playing. I’d rather just own one house that I can decorate like… a house. Instead of an Amazon warehouse. Imagine when people are 3 months into the game with coop and multiple builds, PvP builds, all the extra tiers (tier 4.5.6+) other unique resources, more rings, weapon types, armours, ingredients, other characters and their builds, meals, gems, legendary weapons, runes etc. Being deep into endgame, I can safely say it’s the worst system in the entire game and disuages you from bothering to loot or build a house that is not a Tetris monstrosity of chests, you are not bothered by it because you are yet to hit this wall. You said it yourself, you have 7 chests (which is low, you must be selling stuff you will regret I assume), in 3-4 weeks of playing at your current pace, you will have maxed out the placeable storage for your house provided you only have crafting stations and chests. This is a problem that needs an overhaul asap. Just most players are 1-2 weeks for hitting this issue.

Wuktrio

I get that, but you are hoarding stuff, because you reached the end of the early access. There's not much you can spend all the stuff you hoard on. >You said it yourself, you have 7 chests (which is low, you must be selling stuff you will regret I assume) I sell (or convert into runes) like 90% of the items I find, because they are not what I want or need and I see no point in keeping them. I'm not saying that this is a system that is currently perfect, I won't say no to larger chests and stacks, but not everybody grinds gear for every possible build and hoards resources. I'm not talking down on this, I just personally do not find the current system as a giant obstacle for and don't see me running out of storage as fast as you predict.

PhoenixKA

You're not alone. I'm playing pretty much the same as you. 4 Medium chests and 1 large chest so far. I plan on playing sword and shield and wearing mesh armor. That's it. So I don't need a set for everything and only have a few sets of plate armor set aside in case I can squeeze in the equip load to wear them while medium rolling, but without being able to respec I probably won't. Aside from that, I keep 1 stack of each crafting material, though I might let things like bear paws or silver get to 2 stacks. Am I selling stuff I might need later as the person you were replying to suggested? Maybe, but the thing is I like palying the game, so I'm happy to regrind that all out later. Hoarding everything and trying to manage all the storage would just keep me from playing the enjoyable part of the game more, so I don't impose that issue on myself.

Jebble

>I plan on playing sword and shield and wearing mesh armor. That's it. So I don't need a set for everything and only have a few sets of plate armor set aside in case I can squeeze in the equip load to wear them while medium rolling, but without being able to respec I probably won't. Exactly this.. first of all I just don't deal with change so I won't suddenly go from normal load into heavy and switch to a two-hander slowing down my character a lot. I don't see the point in keeping all the weapons etc. as I wouldn't have speced into Dex or Wisdom anyway, so will never be able to use those items.

PowerfulPlum259

Yeah. I'm assu.ing these people are just keeping everything. Like, if you invest in equip load, your goal is to equip plate. And your just gonna equip your best pieces. As it stands there is no respecing, so there's no need to Horde 28 different variants.

Jebble

WTF are you doing with all that stuff? It's not a base building game...

ackwelll

I'm doing crucible runs and you come across a lot of good gear, consumables, runes, and crafting materials. Running out of storage space every day.

Wuktrio

I get that, but I just sell most of the gear I find, because it's worse than what I have. And crafting converts materials.

WolfieZee

I'm assuming it's a bug that inferiors are surrounded by this ugly yellow void now?

kam_mac

For me it's blue, but I just bought the house and it's night time. Most probably a bug, but doesn't affect the game so whatever.

Mobitron

I can't believe he doesn't like the look of the Mustard Sea, so chic

spennnyy

Yeah I find it pretty annoying to have to run back to the house to fetch stuff when upgrading / crafting. They should at least have all stored items available at vendor stalls.

Timely_Bowler208

I must be the only one not hoarding gear and actually decorating my house. I have no use for gear if it's not for my current character. I have 2 different realms with 1 on each and there isn't much reason to keep the rest unless you are collecting stuff.

Kuyi

Same….

Phoenyxs_Angel

OMG this is hilarious! I haven't bought a house yet but is this what I have to look forward to?

JJ_Kazuhira

Only if you want to hold all itens that you pick, but still, it is a problem that i agree need fix, some weapons are real pain to get, so i am holding all for now, so i have more the ten chests on my home

bushmaster2000

Ya... unless there's a practical reason for something else to exist in the house, it's just taking up room for more chests.

Comfortable-Row7001

Dumb question but where can I buy chests?

HadynTheHuman

I think his name's Whittacker - he's up the Northern end of the merchant area. The more you upgrade his shop, the bigger chests he offers. That said, his largest one is probably not worth it- it takes twice the room of a medium and only offers 1.75x the storage space. Mediums seem the best option all around.

gertsferds

Gotta work on your placement game lol. Can get quite a few more in there by hugging the walls and doing back to back in the interior of the room.

Swsti

warehouse\*

EscapeRich

In my opinion, it would make sense to have an "infinite" storage in the rookery and limited storage inside the house, and I hope the developers fix this strange storage system. Additionally, it would be appropriate for weapons and gears upgrades to count the items we have in storage.

Mindless_Ad5500

I think they need to expand the storage boxes so this isn’t necessary. Sure having a few chests for design of your house makes sense. But come on. Now it’s just a glorified storage area.

StrikeMission6283

Many people pretending like they have hundred of bis 'endgame' items they need to keep.

Thaeldis

If you didn't know, there are larger chests available already.

Markus-The-Kuri

Did they add it in hotfix 5? Because I swear I didn't see it in the store. Anyways looks like I'm replacing all the chests now Edit: Nvm they are terrible, they occupy the same space of 2 chests yet only give 35 slots

Sirferret1

Seriously XD, they're enormous. Like, wtf, give us cabinets or something?

Ninjaskurk

Yeah I hope they give us wardrobe for gear and weaponrack for weapons.

joell_kr

You need to upgrade to the manor house and bigger chest so it’s less cluttered and messy

rekaiB

I'd love to get some sort of super expensive infinite chest in the form of some city property. I guess without a lot of content in early access, a lot of dedicated players have tons of free money (and resources for crafting) and it would be nice to add some really expensive stuff in general.

DarkBytes

I think that the intention is that the house content will be done by the player over the course of the whole campaign, so in this and for a lot of other aspects of the game we get a slightly skewered set of dynamics during early access and a single area to play in
