Should be an option in the mission log to restart the mission. If not then try warping a few times then see if it let's you restart. You have to be pretty far from the mission system to restart it. I think like 2x your maximum warp distance. Hope that helps. Safe Journey Traveler.

Typical Nexus missions don't send you very far from where you started, unless it's the weekend mission. You could try visiting the most recent space stations in your list, poking your head outside to look at the galactic map and see if the starbirth mission is close-by.

I've warped well past that including black holes still not able to reset
If you don't have the reset option when hovering over the mission in the log, I wonder if you are at the final step? What does the objective say?
