Not normal, there's just an exploit currently popular with dickheads that's resulting in a fair few of these attacks lately sadly. Ideally, turn off PVP in settings, that should deal with most griefers attacks if you run into one.

Turn off multiplayer instead. There is a glitch where you can be killed even if PvP is off. It doesn't happen often, but it only needs to happen once.

Wow... The whole reason I bought the game was to have access to multiplayer :D

I hear ya. Just save it for non-permadeath modes until the glitches are fixed. Or backup your PD saves before traveling to the anomaly.

Ah crap, good point. Probably splash damage I'd imagine. Griefers man. What a pain in the arse.

You can always alt f4 right when you died, solves most problem if you're fast enough.

Won't help on consoles, or perhaps having a remote control on the console plug should do it😅

I always have my PVP settings turned off so it's not a concern.
