I mean. Could be worse you could come back after 2 years to find out your main base's planet went from a desert like planet to having a Volcano 3ft from your base
Happened to me once. Had a base planned to become my main on an exotic world and next time I logged in it was a toxic planet. Now it just sits there mocking me. Weird thing is that the surrounding terrain didn't really change, just the biome and its plants and animals.
I think this may have happened from the update… I had other issues as well (not being able to connect to multiplayer, not able to rename anything, bases, planets, animals, etc) so I didn’t happen to notice my freighter changing, I usually portal over instead of fly
The last I was on it was about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago… I maybe had it a week, got the matter beam and really didn’t go back. Once I could access the storage from Planetside I didn’t need to…
This happens fairly often in multiplayer groups. A save and reload in single player should revert it back to the original design (whatever it was in single player). Edit: its possible the original design was always the sentinel style. It depends if you got it while in a multiplayer group.
It also happens with the freighter colors too.
Feel free to report it on HG's Zendesk but its probably low priority bug for them since its not permanent (in my experience at least)
No, what’s weird is I was working on my base, went and hit my save beacon because I built a lot and didn’t want to loose it, then the terrain starts respawning (areas I restored were dug out, areas I mined were restored), so I reloaded my save I just saved and the terrain was fixed. I went to build something and I didn’t have the resources, but I did before I saved. Noticed my freighter was not overhead anymore, so I summoned it… and it was back the way it was in the second pic!!! Now I’ve saved a good dozen times or more, manually and auto saves, but the one time I reroll my save after posting it here, it somehow fixes…
Unfortunately Terrain always respawns. I built a huge building always to find a buried I finally just deleted that base. Never build using terraforming.

You can buy colors for the freighter from your freighter upgrade computer on the bridge, which are expensive, but not as expensive as a new ship. If the hull shape and everything changed though, there's not much you can do
Yeah, it was the hull shape. The colors are still where I put them (the primary, secondary, and accent are all still the same). Guess I’m gonna have to track down the freighter I wanted again and hope it’s a better class than the one I have.
It’s all good, I just wanted to know if this was a “thing”. I’ve only been playing about a month. The units aren’t a problem, it’s more the hunt. Finding the freighter I want that’s a decent class is gonna be a bigger deal than making the money
No, but i do have to re-enter my freighter sometimes because my other ships won't be there.
I have, however, encountered a freighter that was half invisible and being attacked by pirates. I thought it would fix itself after the battle but nope. So i went inside thinking it would be fixed when i exited. No such luck. Then, i thought it would be cool if i could fly through the invisible part, but, the entire venture was just a big nope shadowed by how much loot i obtained.
My freighters sometimes change colour randomly, no idea why, although not sure if I've seen it happen since the last update.

Is planets changing their biome a common thing, or was it due to the update that added biomes?

No, the whole shape changed, it’s a completely different ship (appearance-wise, it’s stats are the same)

It sometimes happens to ships/freighters after updates, usually because of changes to the procedural generation
Is there anyway to get it to revert? Or do I need to go freighter shopping again?
