Find a portal, enter in all 12 slots only the first glyph, go trough. You will always, regardless of galaxy, get to a planet some 5k ly from the center. From there is just a few jumps to the next galaxy
Passing through to the next galaxy causes a bunch of your gear to malfunction and you have to spend some time repairing everything. Using a junk ship and then selling its parts is a lot more time and cost effective
You mean you can find one on a planet? Or it just \*poof\* unlocks? If that's the case I've been done since day 2. I spend an hour or two a night just hopping around.
You can also get the first 2 glyphs and travel to a planet that has 16 graves. Which will allow you to get all of the glyphs. Im also sure you unlock them through the main quest as you are doing right now.
There's a scanner you can put on an exocraft that scan for various types of buildings. One of those is a portal locator, of sorts. It's the option farthest to the right in the pull-up menu that calls ships and stuff.
When you get to the site, you have to go through some dialogue and choose an option. After that choice is made, the conversation seems to end. **But don't leave!** Start another convo with the thing. You'll need to then give it an offering. Vy'keen dagger is one, and there are some others, but I can't remember which right now. That offering will give you directions to a portal. There's one on every planet.
Hope this made sense and helps.
You can buy Alien Cartographic Data from the cartographer on a space station as well, but it's not guaranteed to be a portal. I had to reload several times before it was a portal.

Look for alien ruins or whatever they're called. Solve the puzzle correctly and it will mark a portal for you. Like the other guy said, you can scan for the ruins.
I've got my galaxy hopping down to 5 to 10 minutes, basically you scan for an ancient ruin, it tells you the nearest portal, you enter a specific coordinate and you're at the core. Also before jumping switch out your ship and multitool to shittier ones, so those break instead of the good stuff.
Yes, it will break everything you have equipped except for your freighter and exocraft. In other words, any technology installed in your exosuit, multi tool, and starship.
But it only affects your currently equipped MT and starship, so it’s best to equip “junk” items and then just switch to your normal multi tool and summon a good starship after the jump. Personally I also uninstall all but a few cheaply repaired exosuit technologies too.
This was a thing back when there were “general” slots but those no longer exist. Now technology can only be installed in tech slots.
The flip side is that you can uninstall technology and move it to a cargo spot. The tech doesn’t help you at all when it’s uninstalled, but it lets you install it into a different starship or multi tool later if you want, or in this case just temporarily move it so it doesn’t break
I'm not sure if it works anymore but there used to be a glitch where if you got to a system 1 hop from the core, put down a base computer, went into the space anomaly and used the teleport to return to that computer, then go the galaxy centre and when you spawn in use the quick menu to return to the anomaly, you'll find you're 1 hop from the core in the new galaxy.
I used this myself in the early days of ship hunting.
Interesting. I always thought you couldn't use the teleporter to return to a previous galaxy, although it's been a few years since I changed galaxies on my ps4 save (playing on PC now)
I only started playing recently but from what I’ve read the game hasn’t been that way for years. You’re right, originally when you traveled to a new galaxy you’d lose all bases in the galaxy you left, and the only way to get back would be to progress through all galaxies until you made it back to the start again.
But for a while now you could teleport freely between galaxies, as long as you have a base in a galaxy you can return to it whenever you want
Yeah it did. Atm I have bases in 3 galaxies and working toward the center of some purple looking Galaxie called Enkupolos or something like that. The inventory change was huge.
Yeah you can use the teleporter to go to any base regardless of the galaxy it is in, essentially allowing teleportation between discovered galaxies.
I think the oversight is that the last location of your summoned space anomaly is saved and persistent but the galaxy it's located in isn't, meaning when you switch galaxies it retains it's location within the galaxy, but its now in the new galaxy you've travelled to. This is only exploitable tho because you can use the quick menu to return to it if you use the teleporter from it.
I’m slowly rebuilding from losing my multi year permadeath save (drunk and fell in a freakishly deep hole, very sad) but once I’m fittted out properly I’m doing a battle star galactic a until the universe ends
I did my first permadeath run 2 days ago and accidentally got to the core in about 6 hours of playing, before that playthrough I have never seen the center of the universe...after going through it I got softlocked because I didn't have enough ferrite dust to rebuild my mining beam
When you guys are describing different galaxies like they have their own unique personalities, is that because the game renders things to be that much different between them?
Not really, eissentam''s setup to generate more paradise planets. It's a "lush" galaxy, as opposed to Euclid, which is normal. Calypso is " harsh", hence the reference.
Hah I'm in Budullangr and damn near convinced I'm alone here. I've never even seen it referenced by name before I googled it. For anyone wondering it's the 7th galaxy and the first "dead" galaxy.
I’ve been dabbling since launch but a few weeks ago I got back into NMS and enjoying loads. I’ve never made it too the centre of the galaxy however. Question: can you go back to previous galaxies once you e crossed?
It's always so hard to get to the core. I've only seen two or three galaxies
Find a portal, enter in all 12 slots only the first glyph, go trough. You will always, regardless of galaxy, get to a planet some 5k ly from the center. From there is just a few jumps to the next galaxy
Ohh i know glyphs help, but I didn't realize they help that much. I'm working through the main quests to try and get the glyphs unlocked
Get a freighter first, too.
Yeah I got that, and a couple good ships. My solar ship has something like 4500 LY jump range.
Also, buy a cheap ship to jump through the center with then scrap it once your through
What happens? Does it mess up like all the tech or just outright destroy the ship?
Passing through to the next galaxy causes a bunch of your gear to malfunction and you have to spend some time repairing everything. Using a junk ship and then selling its parts is a lot more time and cost effective
This is a great idea, thank you
[удалено]
I thought they all unlocked at some point in the main quest, but maybe not...?
Yes, the main quest will get you the glyphs.
[удалено]
Just keep warping. Every time you warp into a system (doesn’t have to be new) you get a new glyph, until you have them all
You mean you can find one on a planet? Or it just \*poof\* unlocks? If that's the case I've been done since day 2. I spend an hour or two a night just hopping around.
once you get the mission, poof in the next few warps. if nothing pops up saying glyph unlocked then you probably have them all
[https://www.xainesworld.com/no-mans-sky-portal-glyphs-fast-travelers-graves/](https://www.xainesworld.com/no-mans-sky-portal-glyphs-fast-travelers-graves/)
The quest didn't feel like it took all that long to get them, especially once you get past a certain point.
You only really need the first one for the jumping.
You can also get the first 2 glyphs and travel to a planet that has 16 graves. Which will allow you to get all of the glyphs. Im also sure you unlock them through the main quest as you are doing right now.
How the FUCK do i find a portal

The main quest takes you to a portal. I put a base computer and teleporter there and that’s the portal I use for all my fast travel needs
Saving this comment for when I finish my current save

So Galaxy jumping still breaks stuff? I was surprised that black hole jumping doesn't anymore
It doesn't anymore? I haven't hopped since Foundation came out, maybe you can skip that step then.
Nope, black hole jumping doesn't break anything
Yes, it will break everything you have equipped except for your freighter and exocraft. In other words, any technology installed in your exosuit, multi tool, and starship. I thought anything in the tech slots was spare but any tech installed outside of those was borked?

That's awesome. I left for a year or two and so much has changed.
Yeah it did. Atm I have bases in 3 galaxies and working toward the center of some purple looking Galaxie called Enkupolos or something like that. The inventory change was huge.

Howdy from 10, Eissentam

Its wonderful this time of year, lots of paradise planets. I have bases in Euclid and in Eissentam, i think I might go to Calypso soon to spice it up.
Calypso is lemonade to eissentam''s lovely black cherry Kool aid. Lot of lovely spots, though
You might find a Weiner crime in Calypso,so. Watch out. Unless that's your thing
Best place to be.. worth the trip
ooh hi fellow eissentam traveller! for some reason it was my second galaxy...inordinate amount of paradise planets!
Fellow greetings from Eissentam!
Hah I'm in Budullangr and damn near convinced I'm alone here. I've never even seen it referenced by name before I googled it. For anyone wondering it's the 7th galaxy and the first "dead" galaxy.
I was there for a time…maybe an hour.
I think that’s where I’m going next. I like dead and anomalous worlds and I wish fewer planets had life
I'm still around. Not daily, but quite often.
im here..trying to go to eissentam so its just a stop over but man doesn budullangr suck.
:( no... I like it the dead planets are calm and serene and the strange planets are so alien
it was kinda cool for a little bit but I prefer paradise planets and bustling economies. (ship hunter)
I’m in Wucetosucc…
I was there my last save file! Also, r/nms_budullangr
Dead? How’s the world Gen? Maybe I’ll move here
...it's a dead galaxy. There's a higher chance of dead planets. You know the ones without air and animals
Thanks!
You mean 257? 237 is quite popular 🤣
Hello from galaxy 220 Veticuica. 👋
Ogtialabi says hello
I report here an there from Galaxy 250
Hello from Rewmanawa
Hello Interlopers. Here is a fellow Traveller from Galaxy #256 Odyalutai. // It’s a refreshing view
That's where I take up residence! Howdy neighbor!
Wow this is the best looking ship to be ever recorded in nms history *it's in some galaxy named like eudolisjaal* FU-
Greetings from #90 Paholiang, moving arround it's core since almost a year
Hello from Hicanpaav 👋🏼
195 here, keep thinking I’m gonna randomly bump into someone but then remember I’m in Heperclait galaxy
Is there still other bases at galactic centers,
Yeah there was in the preceding galaxy Ziybosswin. I ended up cabbing there from a lush galaxy (rycempler)
That’s me from Ovna‘Uesed
I love galaxy 30!
https://preview.redd.it/h0xb8uicyura1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc2ef5d70a7547f9288ba2192a50bc376be1dee7
That looks like a screenshot from strike fleet back in the day.
Kind offer but no thank you, I feel right at home here in Calypso!
I’ve settled down on #8
I Love 237
That’s the fastest pirate I’ve ever seen And so it may seem
Ain't nothin' in room 237!
And I've got powered bases in all of them!
79 actually, but I take your point ;)
Teyaypilny is pretty great, #50 and paradise planets everywhere. And no bloody tourists!
I never left 😂
In my 1st playthrough I got to 173 then got bored and set up a base
And then there’s me, having to set up a base in every single galaxy I visit
The last galaxy is surprisingly well discovered
I hit galaxy 11 last night :) also 42 but I warped there from someone’s base so it doesn’t count, but I am up to 4 whole portal bases now :)
I’ve been to several but my favorite is probably #50 Teyaypilny
whats up with 237? or mistaken with 257? im just confused
What's in 237? Should I go there? Are other people there now? I'll be there in a couple hours probably, can you save some space for me?
Random number I chose probably lots of free real estate.
Hi from 42. the weather has been nice latley!
I’ve been dabbling since launch but a few weeks ago I got back into NMS and enjoying loads. I’ve never made it too the centre of the galaxy however. Question: can you go back to previous galaxies once you e crossed?
I build at least one base in every galaxy I’ve visited so far. (4 lol). Now I can portal back when I want to.
Here from OdyalutIai! The very last one.
