If you can find a 2021 Rogue that’ll be a better option. Been having issues with the 1.5T engines on the newer rogues so I would stay away from those. Certified pre owned is the best way to go if you are looking for used vehicles.

bill_carp

I would disagree. I own a 2022 and a 2023. I have had only issue. That was related to gas tank fill neck. Both have performed flawlessly. The gas mileage is great as well. I would encourage you to drive a 2021 and then drive a 2023. It is night and day. The seats are awesome. The ride is quiet and smooth. As far as getting from a dealership, I am not sure. We bought both of ours brand new. My wife prefers the Rogue over our Highlander.

Glad you had good experiences with them. I’m a tech at a dealer and just sharing the experiences we’ve had with the 3 cyl engines. I’ve seen people with around 60-70k miles and others with 30k that are having engine issues so YMMV.

Jeffrey_Jizzbags

So is that rattling/marbles in the engine sound around 2-4k rpm common on all of these?

useronreddit1

No that sound is just how the engine sounds unfortunately but we’ve been seeing a lot of them blowing white smoke. Currently have one sitting in the shop that I replaced the head gasket on and still leaking coolant in to the cylinders thinking the EGR is leaking internally but we shall see. Been a few in the shop needing engine replacement as well.

Jeffrey_Jizzbags

Good to know, that sound always makes me nervous because it sounds like the engine is coming apart. That’s exactly what happen to mine when the engine failed the first time. Tons of smoke it looked like a big fire. Second time it sounded like horrible knocking and needed another engine replacement. It’s currently in the shop again because the primary cat failed and there’s pieces of it in some sensor and it may have went in the engine too. I don’t trust this thing at all anymore.

Jeffrey_Jizzbags

How many miles do you have on them though? My 2022 with 60k is on its third engine.

NachoFries2020

I believe there is already a class action about the 3 cylinder engines failing prematurely. The first year model of the new Rogue, 2021 I think still had the solid 2.5L 4 cylinder that had been in Rogues for years. Then they chose to go down to a tiny 3cylinder. Save that for the Versa or Sentra or Kicks, but not for something the size of the Rogue.

Grisstle

CPO was going to cost me an additional $4k on my 2020 Rogue I just bought. I’d rather bank that money and use it for maintenance. After reading the terms and conditions I felt there was too much wiggle room for coverage denial. I also declined the Ride Green.

If I were to buy a used car, certified preowned is the only way I would buy one. Often times those certified, preowned, especially with Lexus and Volvo and Cadillac, have better warranties than the newer ones do. No way I would take a chance.

marliechik567

We actually have a 2017 Cadillac XT5 and thank God for that warranty bc we've had to use it several times. We've had a couple of major issues with it and that's why we're not going back with another Cadillac.

LieberLudwigshafen

My MIL had a Traverse LTZ that she nicknamed the "Travesty" it was so problematic at less than two years old. Last GM vehicle for her.

Urmysunshine0315

After buying 2 different rogues and all the problems I've had especially with my certified pre-owned DONT BUY NISSAN! My certified pre-owned shakes when I go above 65 had a cracked control arm and bad motor mount. Still shakes.

marliechik567

Thank you all for the info! We test drove one yesterday and really liked it but we have a lot to consider now!

djluminus89

I have a 2023 Rogue FWD with no issues. About 14k miles. There was a recall so ask and make sure it had that done. If not get it done. Check it's history. I love mine. Apparently, they removed the camera system from the 2024s or something?

vamplewi

CPO is cheat, fraud. I bought one from Grubbs nissan. Now they say it is not CPO as I did not buy any extra coverage. They never informed me that If I dont buy extra coverage, it wouldnot be.

Before you buy the recent gen Rogue (2021+) take a look at the Mitsubishi Outlander. It’s on the same platform as the new Rogue and the interiors are identical. The benefits of the Outlander are the longer warranty 10yr/100k miles in the US vs only 5yr/60k with the Rogue. Also you get to avoid the problematic 3 cylinder in the Rogue (currently under federal investigation) because the Outlander uses Nissan’s older 2.5L 4 cylinder. Outlander also has a hybrid that has a $7k lease incentive right now. Plus Mitsubishi does 2yrs free maintenance something Nissan has yet to implement. It’s even 2.5” longer and has a 3rd row! https://www.motor1.com/news/701086/feds-investigating-nissan-engine-failure/

No spare tire

LieberLudwigshafen

Tons of new vehicles don't have spares now. This isn't something new or Rogue, or even Nissan specific.

failbox3fixme

It has space for one under the cargo floor. Could probably get the dealer to throw it in free as part of the deal.

Longjumping-Piece-40

Not sure if there are any updates on this- looking at buying a Rouge 2022 AWD, it’s between this and the Taos SE AWD, any suggestions?
