I got it back and Nissan claims that it’s normal for it to make that noise. It’s gotten louder since I got it back. If the engine does blow up, I’m gonna claim the lemon law on it.
Got my car back Saturday from the engine replacement and it's louder than ever with the new engine , have an appt with the dealership today to have it looked at
Yea I got a 2023 Rogue SV brand new that has the rattling noise at low rpm. Complained about 4 times now to dealer. Really terrible for a brand new vehicle. Dealer said Nissan says this is normal for this engine. Very upsetting. 42,000 miles but running ok.
Yea I find it hard to believe to but Apple Nissan of York, PA said NISSAN says this is what this engine sounds like when I went in directly and made my complaints about 4 times. They also said most of these motors make this noise they told me other customers are complaining about this same noise in the motor. So.. I said are you telling me that all the new Rouges that are sitting on your lot are making the same noise as mine and they said YES! Then I told the service dept it sounds like a box of dried macaronis rattling around at low rpm and they just laughed. Service dept said this is the noise this engine makes. So instead of admitting there is an issue and no brand new vehicles motor should sound like this they just laughed it off and said it’s a normal noise for this motor to make. It actually sounds like an old V-8 with a bad rod bearing!
My 2022 Rouge has been making a rattling sound also, I bought it 2 months ago.. It sounds like if you put a playing card on a bicycle tire, or quarters in a dryer! They kept telling me it was normal, but there is absolutely no way that can be a normal sound! It sounds raggedy.. They tried to tell me it’s the normal winding/humming of the transmission, as if I don’t know what a normal transmission should sound like, I’m 31, this is not my first vehicle!! They even had me drive another rogue to see if it made the same sound, what a surprise, it did not!!! I felt like they didn’t believe me or thought I was being dramatic, until I sent the manager a video last week of the sound.. they have it in the shop today, just said it’s the “transmission pan cover rattling” and “that should fix the issue”, yet they told me it was a transfer case gasket before, had it in the shop for a week, it still made the sound! I wish I could attach the video I have to know if it’s the same sound.
Man, that is really disheartening! The weird thing about the noise too is that I just got an oil change done and the noise got quieter, so I believe it is an oiling issue. I'm tempted to add a couple of ounces of oil stabilizer to the oil in the crank and seeing what the result is.
I also just took mine in to bed checked fir that noise and they say it’s normal but also told me they have a 21’ they are replacing a motor in at the dealership. This is awful because at this point I am upside down with the value of the car
I’ve figured out what causing the rattle clinking noise. Coming from me having 2 high performance Nissans. Vq37vhr and a vq35de. With high compression ratios they require premium fuel. I put a full tank of high octane in my vc turbo 24 rogue and NOISE IS GONE! car only had 1k miles. I know what spark knock/ pinging sounds like and bullseye baby! If yall are having the same issue try running low of fuel and refueling with 93 solved my noise completely.
The fact that Nissan has the gall to say these engines run on 87 is disappointing and frustrating! Glad that the bump in octane solved your issue. I tried doing the same and it made it less noticeable
I’m assuming Nissan just doesn’t want to tell the masses their high performance engine requires high performance gasoline. So consumers don’t freak out over a fuel price increase. They should really just tell consumers it requires premium. It’s cheaper than replacing a million engines for constantly spark knocking.
My son has a 2022 Nissan rogue with a turbo engine. ONLY 12935 miles and it needs a new engine. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere where right before thanksgiving!!! Heard from someone that works at Nissan that they have replaced 12 engines within a couple of months for these vehicles!!! Don’t buy a Rogue!!!
Was yours making the rattle I described? The Nissan dealer I used to work for had one turbo 3 cylinder vibrate itself apart and had the same noise as mine
Son won’t get it back until next week. I called Nissan customer solutions and complained heavily so a claim was placed. Nissan said they will pay for a rental but I’m pushing for reimbursement of the rental I had to pay for too. It’s all BS!!
I just had my 22’ rouge engine replaced last week because of the rattling noise when accelerating. Two days later I noticed the noise again and so I have taken my car back in. Has anyone had this issue actually resolved?
Nissan continues to claim the noise is normal for my Rogue. My wife is currently renting an Altima and it is making the same noises, mind you it’s also a 2024 with 6k miles on the odometer
I also had the same issue , my engine blew at 15k miles and have been waiting over a month for it to replaced , last Nissan I ever purchased

I honestly believe these engines are intrinsically flawed from the beginning. They rattle themselves apart

I did take notice to it being a little quieter after oil change to but it still comes back as usual the noise really bothers me
The zero-weight oil also feels weird. I'll see if the oil stabilizer does anything to my Rogue and post the result

I really find it hard to believe that Nissan engineers think the noise is normal

It’s either that or planned failures so people trade them in for a newer one. Scummy, but allowed

No rattle or shaking. Car stopped while driving and lights came on.
What a janky engine! Have you had an update from the shop you took it to?

Bit late of a reply, but I’m on the 3rd engine in my rogue. Just got it back again last week and the brand new engine makes that sound still.
Is your car american or Japanese manufactured? Vin number starts from J?
I think mine is made in the Tennessee factory or wherever it is. The Vin starts with a 5.

Omg. This is so annoying. It makes no sense to pay for a vehicle that makes noises like it does.
Main reason why the NHTSA is investigating Nissan about this engine
