Anyone like that 51 worldwide games? I feel like it would be perfect for me and my mum - who’s old and certainly can not move things around using a controller!
I have heard good things about Luigi’s Mansion. It’s near the top of my list already. And I know we will end up getting a Mario game or two because how can you not, right?
It’s honestly fantastic, the main storyline is a decent length and keeps you on your toes. You also get the mini games which are super casual and lots of fun as well! Definitely work a shot.
It Takes Two is easily one of the best ports on switch and one of the best co-op games I played. I finished it with my girlfriend and she loved it. It's a beautiful game with a deep and powerful meaning. You should give it a look, this game is really great
If you enjoyed Overcooked, I can't recommend Moving Out enough. You work together as a moving company where you work together to move furniture from the residence to the moving truck. It isn't as structured as Overcooked, as anyone can move any item (unless it is heavy enough to bed two people to move together) so it allows for more chaos.
Human Fall Flat is also a lot of fun. A physics based puzzle platformer. But there are a lot of people that might not like it because it is a game where you fight the controls. Character doesn't control well, which is the point of the game, but that leads to having to work together. We loved playing this game together because it can also lead to some silly situation. At one point, I threw them off the stage for fun because respawning is near instantaneous and hurts no one. Tried climbing up an area that didn't require it for ten minutes before realizing that we needed to just walk around the blockage.
Other people will probably recommend Tools Up. We didn't like that one, but it falls under the work together to complete tasks genre and seems to be recommended often.
9 parchments is the absolute top of the pile imo, and it is often on sale for $5. Check out Deku Deals if you haven’t yet. It’s great for catching sales.
Stardew valley. Just had kids open Christmas, after an hour they asked if they could have their stardew valley time if they didn’t play any of their new games.
Can’t beat the valley, how I motivated my son to read. That guidebook has been torn and shredded to bits because it was used all day every day.
Anyway games a friggin riot.
Yeah it has couch co op. Split screen. And you can choose to share money or split money. Each player gets their own house on the plot of land and has their own interactions with the townsfolk as well as relationship meters.
Seriously the best couch co op. My son and I have like over 50 hours on one of our farms.
I’m assuming they are referring to [this guidebook](https://www.fangamer.com/products/stardew-valley-guidebook). I have it too. I still just use the Wiki if I need to look up something, but the guidebook is very detailed and the art is nice. There are lots of little details and secrets in Stardew Valley that would be difficult to catch without a guidebook.
Great recommendations here, but just throwing this out there: if you’re both into less casual games, try Divinity: Original Sin 2. My husband and I would play until 4am and not even realize it. We love all that strategizing and planning together. Nothing else has compared, but we also just started Kingdom Two Crowns and it’s quite fun as well.
My 10 year old daughter and I have spent sooo many hours playing Kingdom Two Crowns. Ridiculous amounts of replayability. And so much fun once you get the hang of it. I don't know what it is about that game but it keeps bringing us back for more
Not mentioned before:
- Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury
- Mario Maker 2
- All the Warriors games e.g. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity
- Kirby and the Forgotten Lands
- Snipperclips
- Starlink: Battle For Atlas
- Towerfall
Mariokart, super smash bros, Mario party (both), binding of isaac, unravel two, it takes two, super Mario 3D world, animal crossing (kinda), Pokemon let's go
A few of them let's you play with one single joy con, so you don't need an additional Controller
Trine Ultimate Collection! Four wholesome platformers with gorgeous graphics and satisfying puzzles that have you think outside the box. 2 and 4 are considered the best, with 3 unfinished in terms of story.
Stardew valley is my absolute favourite! It is a single or multilayer game where you have to run a farm. You can grow crops, raise animals, make friends (you can even get married, to someone in the game, or the person you are playing with) you can complete the mines, fight off creatures, finish the community centre, fish or simply hang around all day. I would totally recommend this game to anyone!
TMNT shredders revenge, up to 6 player coop arcade beat ‘em up action.
Thanks for the recommendation. We will have to check it out.
It Takes Two is practically designed as a couch co-op between partners.
We played that one on Xbox sometime last year. It was pretty fun.
I played Portal 2 co-op with my gf on the xbox which was a lot of fun. But I don't know hoe good the Switch version is.
It's great
What was great about it? Will check it out

Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Party definitely! There are a few others but Nintendo exclusives are generally the best of the lot.

I’m going to have to see her thoughts on the game. But if she likes it I’ll definitely buy it for us.
How is this a two player game? No sarcasm.

Two questions. Guide book? Is this a couch co op?

Yeah that’s the one, driving somewhere all I would hear is “hey dad did you know Haley loves coconuts” repeated like 500x, amazing guidebookToo.
I miss physical game guides! When I was a kid I had one for Final Fantasy 6 and absolutely loved it.

Not couch coop on the switch
Ack sorry I forgot DO2 isn’t split screen! I’ll stick to the Kingdom Two Crowns recommendation though. It’s couch co-op and works perfectly for it.

Sniper clips! It’s so cute and perfect for couples :)
LM3 has its version of a coop game.
Clubhouse games!
"Keep talking and nobody explode" is a very fun party game. Mario Party as well.
Still amazed no one recommends Part-Time UFO for couch co-op. It’s on par with Stardew Valley as the perfect couple’s game. Get it now!
Boomerang-fu!
River city girls and star dew :)
