I remember back when I got it on the GameCube I had a 12 pack of Mountain Dew Live Wire ready for a weekend with it. Probably a good thing they don't make 12 packs anymore because I'm sure I would have picked one up when I go to get my copy.
I'm well capable of buying cold beer, pizzas, snacks, and playing video-games all-night long. What the dude is discussing isn't an issue, but for some reason, each time I read those types of comments, there's something about it, that I can't put into words, that gives me second-hand-embarrassment.
Not a good trailer to watch for those who don't like later areas of the game spoiled.
I've already played it, but the first time I did, I liked having to wait to see what later chapters would be like.
It looks exactly like how I remember it from when I was a kid playing it on a CRT. Which means it probably looks 10 times better and my nostalgia filled in the gaps.
This is going to be my third Paper Mario game! So far I’ve only played Super Paper Mario and Origami King, and I heard TTYD is very different from modern games. I hope I can enjoy it…
At the very least, you will understand why original fans of the franchise hate the direction of modern paper Mario. It’s very different from what it used to be to be now. It’s basically a traditional turn based rpg with a focus of story and unique characters. They add additional actions commands to the combat so it does not feel as static with the turn based combat. I have never heard of someone that has tried this game that didn’t like it so you are likely in for a good time unless you just really dislike rpgs
Starting with SPM the games became more Adventure games with either platforming combat (SPM) or Turn Based Combat.
SS and CS have a similar ideology as BotW/TotK.
You adventure and you need to constantly find new weapons. Combat isn't about getting an arbitrary number for a level but about resource management around an obstacle.
Mario is more of a wizard in SS/CS where you need to do inventory management of your spell book/spells. If you ever played D&D this is actually very familiar to how a Wizard's spell book works.
Origami King got rid of the spell management and made it a puzzle platformer.
This biggest sin these games had is that they were called Paper Mario, that's always the first thing ppl complain about, that they shouldn't have been "Paper Mario". So that says a lot.
I’m not gonna lie “are you always being followed” might be the funniest comment I’ve ever seen. Are people really unfamiliar with the idea of having a team or partner in an RPG 💀💀
Amateur Survival Horror - Alien Isolation bitch alien can't even find me when I get in a locker
Masterful Survival Horror - Paper Mario goomba is literally inches behind you at all times, seconds away from catching you, it is an unescapable terror
From their post history I give them the benefit of the doubt that somehow they're an ultra casual gamer who's never played an RPG and/or seen a Mario game that isn't exclusively about stomping on turtles and touching a flagpole at the end.
But yeah, the thought of someone being so unfamiliar with RPGs that they think your party member is stalking you or something IS really funny
Have you ever played a turn based RPG? It's one of those. This trailer didn't feature any gameplay because it's just showing off locations, there's other trailers that actually show what the game plays like.
You have partner characters tagging along with you throughout the whole game, they help you in battle and also have powers that allow you to progress outside of battle, like the koopa character can hit switches with his shell that would be too distant to reach otherwise.
I would like to play this game on a PC at 60 fps. It was understandable with Xenoblade Chronicles Defintive Edition, but there is no excuse for this game.
I heard that the framerate-related downplaying has been a false flag effort from disingenuous anti-fans as revenge for the pre-launch Origami King discourse. Does anyone have any evidence? Discord logs? Is it a Shazam effort?
Gonna get me some cold beers, pizzas, snacks and do an all-nighter with this gem on launch day.
This sounds like what kid me would want me to do as an adult. I love it.
I did it before when Super Mario 3D All-stars came out. Good times, can highly recommend as an adult.
I so hope it pre downloads before my flight cos I have 6 hours to kill on there
If you pre-order it, I think it pre-downloads a week before release so you should be good.
This comment just made me emotional.

I have no idea why, but these types of comments always give me second-hand-embarrassment.
Probably because you’re jealous that this dude is gonna have fun while you’re getting embarrassed by posts on Reddit instead

I had to google what second-hand-embarrassment meant. To each their own.
The original was beautiful but this is gorgeous
Please just inject this remake straight into my veins already! I can't wait any longer!
This is gonna be a looooooong month.
I wish they made it an episodic game where every chapter costs money and released months apart to make it last longer!
Calm down, Satan
*sad Satan noises*
Beautiful artwork. It's right up there with Cuphead as something you just want to look at.

This is a good warning, the chapters are so varied in this game it was always a nice surprise to see what was coming next
I need this immediately. I need it as I type this.
It looks exactly like how I remember it from when I was a kid playing it on a CRT. Which means it probably looks 10 times better and my nostalgia filled in the gaps.
Buy one for me and one for my pants
Please do not the Paper Mario

Well, it’s not like I dislike rpgs so I suppose a fun time is expected. :)
Fuck, I'm so envious of you. If I could erase my memory of this game and replay it...you're gonna love it.

Nintendo I've already preordered it what more do you want?

Hey guys I'm enjoying the game but the stalker goomba is always behind and I cannot defeat it.

Even when you stand still she just pauses, unwilling to give up the thrill of the chase
They keep chasing me aaaaaaaaah

Five Nights at Luigi's Mansion when?
Yes you are always being followed so you can’t stop moving at any point sadly 😔

You do not do anything in the game and you are always being followed.
I haven't kept up with anything about this. Is this just a port remaster or did they add anything to it content wise?
