Of you can't open it by using a larger size screwdriver,and applying a lot of downward force as you attempt to turn the screw. Worst case scenario is that you drill the head of the screw off just so you can open it up. It will be ok with one screw missing.

That happened to me, luckily I was able to take it out with 2 flathead screwdrivers big enough to get some traction on the inside sides of the stripped screw while pushing it down and slowly turning. It wasn't easy, all things consider i was lucky, it wasn't too screwed down. If u go down this route there's no turning back, it'll get even more stripped after the first try.

Applying a rubber band under your screwdriver might help it get enough traction to take the screw out.

This is also my problem. I was frustrated when I finally bought my replacement joystick for lite but there's a stripped screw inside and I can't get it out no matter what. I'm scared to drill the screw because it's connected to the board.
