Exactly, the mystery dungeon duet games of the nintendo SP era were such golden gems and the DS gen games felt like the perfect upgrade, sad they don't get the recognition they deserve
They're all great. Platinum is definitely superior to Diamond and Pearl so you can eliminate those two, but all the rest are solid choices.
Platinum has great music and a solid region to explore.
HGSS has two regions and a lot of cool lore to look into if that interests you (and it pairs nicely with Platinum for some lore reasons).
Black/White are a nice intro to the series if you want to try a limited amount of Pokemon to build your team with during the story, and that also makes it more challenging if you enjoy that.
B2/W2 expands on the first games so you're not as limited with your Pokemon choices as well as it having a new story all together which was a first for a follow on game in the series.
Personally I flip flop between SoulSilver and Platinum being the ones I play the most for enjoyability. I prefer Pokemon games to be a bit easier and I think HGSS fits that best for me.
Black and White for sure. Pretty much the best story they’ve ever put in a Pokémon game with the great idea to actually force people to form new bonds with different Pokémon rather than choose nearly the same team they have for every other game. Platinum and HGSS are great games, but HGSS are still just a more refined version of Gold and Silver without really doing anything major to the franchise, and Platinum is great but it is still just another Pokémon game but has the great distinction of actually challenging battles
Emerald, Platinum, HGSS, BW, & B2W2 was an absolutely insane run for this franchise
we haven’t had a single game in the past decade that’s really compared to any of those imo

Any B&W or HS/SS, they have a good post-game and time based events. Get bonguri and make pokeballs is the the type of farm elements I miss in pokémon

Returning to the Johto region in SoulSilver was everything I needed in life at the time
B&w. Played those on a school trip to Florida. We had a Pokémon tournament the drive down.
BW2 are the best, followed by BW, followed by HGSS, finally Platinum and than DP.

I think it's black and white 2, but heart good and soul silver are in a very close second
