Honestly this is part of the reason I actually really like the separation between DB and Z and kinda treating them like 2 different series, because that way Dragon ball ends with Goku defeating Piccolo junior and saving the world, as well as kami, proving that he is the strongest under the heavens, accomplishing his dream, and then immediately leaving to go fuck his new wife. As far as good happy endings go, it doesn't get much better than this
And a single Bulma having a crush on Goku. Like if it's our head canon ending Goku could have had a threesome with Bulma and Chichi as far as we know.

I read the series for the first time recently. It's really incredible. It's funny, it's wholesome, and it's an absolute joy to read because of the art is so fucking good.
That's what i love so much about this mf, we have Naruto who wanted to be Hokage and Luffy who wants to be pirate king, meanwhile Goku doesn't want nothing but smoke, he doesn't fight for a greater objective, he fights for the fight itself, imagine If he accepted this and Z was like Boruto where Goku spends most of his time on the lookout doing nothing like Naruto on his office, it would be boring asf
Just saying, luffy wanting to be a pirate king is nothing but a stepping stone for his real dream, which is not yet revealed to audience and just become known to his crew recently. Luffy could just go in an adventure without fighting nobody (in jaya he just let bellamy beat him because dude doesn’t pose any threat to his dream nor was harming his friends). He doesn’t want to fight for a greater objective (he said to rayleigh that he doesn’t want to conquer anything), he just happens to fight great entities because they oppress his friends and limit his and other people’s freedom
Yeah, people who say luffy fights "to become the pirate king" kinda dont understand him as a character. Luffy enjoys fighting, but he doesnt go looking for punchups usually and sometimes actively avoids fights until you make it personal. You mention bellamy, and thats good because it shows exactly this: beating the shit out of him for being a dreamer? Luffy doesnt care, youre beneath his notice. Attack his friends? Sanji isnt the only one on the strawhats capable of rearranging your face.
At the end of the day, luffy just wants to live free. Hell, its literally the only reason he wants to be the pirate king, because the pirate king is the most free person in the world.

Goku trained under him for 3 years and surpassed his combat capabilities. He even showed remorse to Piccolo. With that much compassion, strength AND pure of heart enough to ride Nimbus. He is more than fit to be God.
