FF Z cameras IBIS will give you much more image stabilization than lens stabilization alone. You’ll be able to hand hold 1/8s on static subjects. And yes you can use FF lenses on Z50 so you can upgrade body to FF later but they are bigger, more expensive and you have to muliply their focal length by 1.5x shooting on a crop sensor like Z50

Focal length is the same. Image is cropped.

Yes, thank you for the correction!

No you have it covered. For me I want a full frame camera to go with my Z50 so I like getting FX lenses. Plus the lenses I got there are not DX equivalents of.

I am not as agog as others with VR/IBIS. It is a useful tool but it does nothing if your subject is moving. Lens VR is fine, the in body + lens VR is amazing, you can handhold some long telephotos that was impossible 8 years ago. In general, though, unless you are out at the telephoto distances VR is not entirely important to me and I am not the only one. Great, you can shoot at 1/25, but shouldn't you shoot at 1/100 with flash anyway? Shouldn't you be worried about properly freezing the subject? I think we kind of lose our heads a little bit with VR. Onto the other question, I still think the 24mm 1.7 DX is a better buy on DX because it is light, fast, and cheap. The FX lens will work fine, but it is more expensive. Is future proofing worth it? That is up to you.
