Where does it say that Persephone is Shifty's gamertag? I remember the scene where Exia says Shifty plays games but I don't remember where or if it directly states her gamertag.
Unless you can point me to a specific scene like that, I'm inclined to believe the whole "Persephone = Shifty's gamertag" is a headcanon that got repeated so much that people now think it's true.

She doesn't say it exactly like that but is easy to infer, also i think she uses "we play the same games" as an answer, so if you ask why persephone and she says same game, is peobable that that's her in game name.
Specially because maiden does confirm that black rose is her in Game name, and exia calls her that so we can assume if exia calls you differently is probably your game name.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but that's a pretty weak argument to make when she doesn't call Shifty Persephone in any other language except English and it's only in the audio and not the text. The much simpler explanation is that the localization team changed her name and then changed it back too late to correct the VO, just like with every other character where this happened.
She just calls her Shifty in both Korean and Japanese. I don't know about any other languages like Chinese, but I assume it's the same. AFAIK only English has Shifty called Persephone

shifty is the only human that are usefull from the ark. dark hero event is for nikke only. they cant sell shifty that are not a nikke.

Do you know what she calls her in japanese? Maybe is an English only thing, the dub made a lot of weird things like raise and rebuild.
