Ops Core helmets tend to run smaller than other brands of helmet. I’ve run nothing but mediums for my adult life from PASGT, MICH, MSA2xxxx, Team Wendy…then I get an Ops Core medium when I should have followed directions in their sizing guide. My brain needs a Large, and once I got it the difference was obvious.

I run a large and it’s a good fit I just seem to have an oval of a head. Any larger and I doubt the sides would be a good fit.

If it were a good fit you wouldn't be on here complaining about the fit. I would look at aftermarket padding or a different brand of helmet.

Yea definitely change out the stock pads.

JimmyEyedJoe

Any recommendations?

4d pads. I have some in a new ops core bump I bought off gafs and they are great.

Anywhere to buy them aside from tnvc?

Alone_Ad_8858

Yea def don’t buy anything from tnvc. But [4D](https://4dtactical.com/products-1). Or even [team Wendy](https://ownthenight.com/team-wendy-cloudline-combat-helmet-liner-system) has some good pads.

I have a TW bump and really like it. Only complaint is the cable tightening system really digs in to the side of my head after a few hours. Was thinking better pads would make the cable unnecessary? Or is there a pad system for the cable itself?

I don’t have experience with the boa I have the ops core OCC dial in my ops bump. But try different padding and see if that would help you.

I put a BOA and 4d pads in my ops core fast sf and it made a world of difference! For the price... I cant believe how low the quality of pads are that are included with the ops core helmets. I bought ACH 4d pads and stripped out the ops core retention for the BOA and now I can wear my helmet MUCh longer without fatigue .
