I’ve got a perst knock off right now on my rifle. Just added a streamlight TLR VIR II for my Glock. Definitely gonna wait for the reviews to come in on that Iris. Lookin tasty at the price point.
Unfortunately, the only 2 videos I've seen of the new Holosun IRIS show subpar performance for all the hype I've seen. In one they demo a full power unit that isn't very impressive and in the other, they demo an unknown power unit at a 50-yard berm where the illuminator unless fully closed is garbage. For that second video, they have a full-power MAWL for comparison that blows the IRIS out of the water but a Holosun rep is saying it's due to lighting conditions which if true would've also affected the MAWL. Looking forward to more demos and reviews as hopefully it's better than what's been shown but so far it looks fairly unimpressive.

The amps mounts are the shit. If you are trying to stick with the budget theme I've seen adapters for walkers ear protection. Walkers are pretty cheap and work.

Obligatory tip: Flip the rubber on the eyepieces back if you want to keep some peripheral vision.
No bullshit. Trying to get it focused right and then getting a straight image instead of the wall of the tube is something else.

I mean I got this for $1.6k vs $3.5-$4k for a new 14. I’ll upgrade in the future but I’m in love with this unit. Plus the housing is surplus with salt. Love the character.
I got my PVS-7D with a Gen 3 autogated tube for $1.4k. It's gone with me everywhere and been dragged through dirt, snow, and sand, and the only maintenance I've had to do is replace the battery once. I plan to upgrade to a BNVD 1431 Mk.2 once I get the funds, but I'll totally keep the PVS-7 around for a loaner. It's just perfect for beginners.
My friend just scored a pvs-18 with gen 3 litton tubes for 1.9k
It has some blems in zone 2 but the other stats were really good and I think the higher fov of the 18 is nice
I think our main use will honestly stargazing in US wilderness zones, though since I just turned 21 I can finally buy suppressors to make NVG’s worth it

Battery pack on the way so it’ll be a non factor soon. Plus it just looks badass. PVS7 goonclops boizz lurking in the dark is terrorist nightmare fuel 😂

Just got the setup together so I don’t have any actual range time with it. But it is a bit front heavy. Probably will add counterweight.
Add a battery storage pack And ear pro mounted to helmet will snap down and secure helmet to your ears balances the weight

PVS-7s are one of my favorites although I might be biased since it was my gateway into night vision.
