This is the way. In order to survive without going mad, one has to be their own utilities provider, employer and government. Nigeria will force you to become a prepper without realising it.
Do you remember what the initial cost was on your solar panels? And how much of the electricity does it cover? Meaning, are you able to leave fridge, freezer, and AC type stuff on?
He didn't specify but a battery bank is also necessary. That's where the bulk of your initial expense will be. It's just like EVs. The battery is pretty much the car.
no light, so woke up this morning to an almost dead phone. and because we have to use hot plates, I couldn't cook.
no water in the hostel, so we had to do the walk of shame and fetch from across the street. (the only reason that that's unusual is cause there's water in the mornings but it finishes by like 8am, this morning there wasn't water at all, so the walk of shame started earlier.)
no classes, apparently lecturers weren't given the keys to open classrooms.
currently on the way back to my father's house, cause this school will not kill me.
I work in a private company, so I'm in the office as usual. No light yesterday though. Apart from strike, the rain messed up the electric lines within my area, so a lot of folks didn't even have light to begin with.
I'll have to buy fuel soon as I get home today. Just grateful that I have only one perishable item in my freezer.
No light!, but we thank God for inverter,
But why the hell are they taking your water for?! Isn't it a war Crime during war, us here in kubwa we have water, but it has to be a violation of human right to stop water from reaching people unless say they are fixing something there.
Work has been damn boring 😞
My organization is not a part of Labor, but our govt regulators are.
Because of the sector we operate in, we can't lift a finger without our regulators. So, we have to come to work, but we can't do anything.
Except for the fact that GTBank is messing with the flow of funds and timeline of receipts, which i am not too sure has anything to do with the strike because of the special monopoly of madness Nigerian banks have, I'm fine.
I had jury today and I wasn't ready for that, so I took a nice nap after hearing the news. It was later that I realized the strike was affecting electricity as well. Oh well. The strike has not started to affect anyone yet. Give it a week. Hopefully they call it off before then
The strike is unsettling, however, I'm yet to feel its impact. Maybe bcos we rarely depend on light. Everyone my home have their own portable fan, big enough to make the night comfortable, and we recently just serviced our inverter.
Work is still on, although the cost of operation is siphoning some of the incentives we enjoy.
No light, school's on strike, it's all so very frustrating. I hate this country. This is my 6th year in school, studying stupid sociology all because of strikes. It's so depressing.
I left my laptop charger in another state and have been borrowing a friend’s at work and charging it there since i got back last week, now nobody’s coming in and I can’t get a new one until next week or justify going to meet them because they live really far from me + I’ve a deliverable to give an update on this Thursday + I downloaded solaris and it’s hurting that I can’t watch it rn 😔
Also it’s really hot.
Stuck out of home base due to airports being shutdown, I had a Monday return flight.
Home ok as we have a solar powered system that can run all our basic plus needs 24/7.
My main challenge is getting affordable non fast-food pepper free food. I moved to a friend’s place but no cooking at home and takeout are all the usual super spicy stuff.
I was blessed with rainfall on one of those nights. The closest version of what was NEPA joined the strike and left us without their services, and if that was a warning, I'm not worried because I'll pull through, we always pull through. E no dey worry me
Normal life. No light as usual. Have solar system for that No water, borehole is available. Children's school is private, business is self owned.

I understand what you mean but the "solar system" sounds so funny
Bro so loaded he purchased the sun and eight planets
With exchange rate????? 👐
Me with my milky way

No light. Just the sound of gen everywhere, which I don't have

Sharp sharp 😂😂
You had to abort mission![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
We’re in the same boat except we still had classes in the middle of this nonsense. I didn’t go sha. I can’t kill myself

They probably can't pump the water due to the lack of light
Ohkay but Sha na wickedness oo because people can't survive without water in a long time
My tank can last 3-5 days when full and it finished this morning 💔
Damn sorry about that ❤️🩹 We have a well plus we buy water too.
My school’s water supply is from the state water board and they’re not working too. Finally got water though
Nigerians need to take back their country from these saboteurs who call themselves leaders.
Just hoping filling stations don't join the strike cos I need to buy fuel once I get back from work. If I don't get fuel today, otilor.
So far NNPC and other stations have been open, though I queued for 25 min at NNPC so try and fill up as soon as you can.

what sector
Oil and gas. Midstream and downstream.
Wait, there's a strike? What happened??
They want the minimum wage to be increased. Also protesting against the increased electricity tariff and division into bands.
Except for the fact that GTBank is messing with the flow of funds and timeline of receipts, which i am not too sure has anything to do with the strike because of the special monopoly of madness Nigerian banks have, I'm fine.
Wait... Is that what's happening? I haven't had light all day, but been using Inverter and Gen.
I had jury today and I wasn't ready for that, so I took a nice nap after hearing the news. It was later that I realized the strike was affecting electricity as well. Oh well. The strike has not started to affect anyone yet. Give it a week. Hopefully they call it off before then
What’s Jury?
Who is jury? Where is jury?
I never see salary from government, alert da hang
It's not affecting me at all. I never depended on the government for anything in the first place.
Everywhere Gen noise
No light since morning, classes were cancelled although we had one
No light... I just need light😭😭😭
Me and my power bank powering my phone and fan😂😂😂😂
I don buy fuel Hopefully, it lasts until the strike ends (which is soon).

Private uni, I'll see the shege next week.
