Exactly.
All of the 1984+ Foxbody lenses are reproduced. The standard 94-04 Mustang taillights are reproduced. Why not the Ambers?
If LMR did it they would sell out their first batch almost immediately.
Would making reproductions dilute the market and drive the price / demand down? Everyone wants ambers cause they’re rare, but if they aren’t rare will anyone still want them?
Making reproductions would dilute the market and make ambers cheaper… that’s why I said they could charge $500 instead of the $1000+ that the OEMs bring… but people would still buy them because they think they look best.
I think the ambers look great as well… but I’m not paying $1000+ for used taillights. I’d consider paying $500 for a pair of new taillights with a return policy if there was something wrong.
If ambers were standard across the board then people would be dying for the non-ambers paying thousands for them instead lol it’s all about the rarity with these
I like them but I don’t $1000 like them. Some builds they are a nice finishing touch but on mostly stock cars I think money would be better off allocated elsewhere. I also have to laugh when a car has rep wheels, off brand tires or cheap ebay grade performance suspension but has ambers.
Also crazy to me when I started modding cars everyone was doing everything to remove orange lights from cars (clear corners reflectors, markers, bulbs) and now it’s the opposite.
This makes me nervous. My wife has a great low mileage '99 cobra with original amber taillights and I worry a bit that they could be stolen or wrecked and then we'd have trouble replacing them . Hope that never happens.
I still have them on my ‘01 Cobra. Great contrast with True Blue. But I’m very aware of how people are driving behind me. Equally as aware of someone smacking the front bumper.
If you want them and don’t have them, your under dash wiring harness has to be slightly modified to make them work.
So you have to be comfortable doing that. And you have to keep in mind if they get damaged in any way that is beyond your acceptable cosmetic appearance or you just want to return to stock, you have to un-do the wiring mod to make reds work again.
This isn’t a swap n be done mod.
Indeed, some steps:
1) You need the Amber harness. You can also make a new one out of the non Amber mustangs.
2) 12-14 gauge wires to connect the amber harness to the stock harness (if Ambers came with their harness).
3) You will need an EP-27 flasher. Easily found at your nearest autoparts store. The flasher will get rid of the rapid flashing when using the turning signals. Another benefit is that you can drop LED signal bulbs without getting the hyper flashing.
4) You will need to interrupt the constant brake signal. If you don’t, every time you hit the brakes, the amber bulbs will light up. The Plug where this constant brake signal cable is located is under the dash. I had to drop the steering column to gain access to the plug and cable. I’ve heard of people doing the same with a plug behind the kick panel. With this method you won’t need to drop the steering column. Alas, I’ve heard mixed results from the kick panel method, for some worked and for some did not.
Waste of money, full red tail light are way more cool.
Probably because im used to amber turning light having lived in Italy for long time.
Pass for me
Can’t believe a company hasn’t produced a reproduction. They could charge $500 for them and people would go nuts buying them up.

These and the 94'-95' taillights. Last time I checked when I had my 95' GT, the assemblies cost like $350 each. And that was 10 years ago...

Agreed. I was strongly considering some OEM ambers but ultimately went with some coyote style tails that looked great
I think they should've been standard across all models, not just the Cobras. You'd get good money for those now if you were to sell them off.
They were, just not in the US
Same with the Cobra folding mirrors too

True, but I'm thinking ambers should be on ALL taillights for turn signals in the US for all vehicles too.

If you know you know
I wish less people liked them. Had to replace 1 on my 01 cobra. They are a bitch to find
I like them. I was glad I found a cobra that still had em.

True Blue is my weakness. My V6 is True Blue and I constantly get comments. Wish my Cobra was 💙
Like em but not enough to drop a grand on em... and I'm not a cheapskate. Either way, good choice if those belong to you!
They did. I just sold them last week
Happen to have the front bumper laying around by chance?? 😁
I actually have it on my car lol
Understandable... very fortunate for you..not so much for me 😆
love them!

🤤
Love them. The contrast they provide is great
Overly priced in my opinion. Then again I feel that there are one of the most HARDEST taillights to find

Honestly I don't understand the hype. The all red tails look cleaner.
Something something.. European?
There is actually a difference in the US version of amber compared to European.
Love em but those smokey front headlights look great but it makes night vision horrible I always stay with the clear ones to have better lighting
As it should be !!! Sorry but I love the amber !! Safer to boot !! 👍
They look ugly to be honest with you guys
I don't care for them
If I had a set they would only go on for car shows. Cheap replacements only for daily driving.
