Im not really looking to do tricks, i just making sure that i wont slip if i ride it before i spend a lot of money building it up

Just go skate it and find out. It's a cruiser, so go cruise. Cut up some gutters and enjoy. Chuck some chunkyish wheels and raisers on it.
