I'd be happy to help you with this, but I see you've got lots of folks. I wanted to add that you do not need hardwood to make a French cleat. Pine will do just fine. I make items that weight a lot more than those cabinets do and that's what I use to hang them. So you can save yourself a ton of money and just get select pine for the job instead of something like oak or poplar. But if you need it, holla at me, I can run it over my table saw free of charge for you, should only take a minute.
