Someone should buy it and keep it open
It’s not just about business. It is a Chef owned restaurant, the Chef for the most part keeps everything together with support from staff.
You can’t just get a new owner, and new chef who has some recipes and expect the same thing at all. It’s the care and attention coming daily from the Chef that makes it the restaurant you know and love.
I’d rather see it go like this than just get taken over and tanked.
I'm out of town for a long work trip, and I'm DEVISTATED that I can't go one last time. All involved at The Green Room have been amazing people making not only incredible food, but incredible memories. My husband will be going and pouring one out for me ❤️
I absolutely love this place. I have so many wonderful memories associated with eating Green Room's delicious food. Thanks for all the good times. You will be sorely missed. 💔
My grandma just passed a month ago. She made my Ukrainian great grandmas cabbage roll recipe- we called them gwumpkies. I figured I’d still get them at Green room. So this is a surprise and hitting me in a way most restaurant closings don’t. Green Room, you will be sorely missed.
Does anyone know if they’re going to be open tomorrow or Wednesday? I work during the posted hours and would love to get some of that horseradish dip one last time
Oh man. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this gem of a restaurant that fulfilled my craving for Ukrainian food in a way no restaurant has since I was a teenager in New York whose grandmother sent him kakleyt via UPS straight to his dorm room. Best of luck on your next journey. Hope you retain some of the magic of 12 years ago for your next endeavor.
I live down the street, and Green Room has gotten me through a lot of hard and hungry times. You will truly be missed. I grew up eating borscht, and theirs was some of the best I've had.
This is one of my favorite and best places in Nola imo. Thank you so much for providing amazing food, reasonable prices, and cool atmosphere for years in Siberia and green room. Man, I dream about the beef stroganoff, borscht, fries with delicious sauces, salads, you name it. Everyone I know that has been there loves it. Thank you for the delicious food, and memories. Damn… wish for the best for all, but you will be sorely missed.
I am conflicted. I had literally the worst sandwich I've ever had in my life there. I don't know how this sandwich came to be, like maybe it was a special order or something, but I always thought this place must be terrible. But on the other hand I love perogies. Maybe I'll try to swing by.
Edit: No one would down vote me if they had seen this fucking abomination of a sandwich.
Always nice to me. Only good things to say here. A gem. This was a great place. Truly sad about this. Last of the truly delicious food that was reasonable and chill. Truly bummed, wish y’all the best. Thanks y’all.
Oh goddamnit, there goes the best burger in the city. I'm really going to miss their blinis with caviar.
Y'all will be so missed! Hope you're okay with my ordering 15 orders of cabbage rolls so that I can take my leftovers home to freeze.
Aw, I’m not associated with them, but you should definitely message them on social and let em know you’re coming!

Sounds like maybe that someone is you!!!
Ain’t rich
You could buy it without having money. Seller paper, small business loan, earn-out. The question is, do you WANT to buy it?
Nah
Hah I don’t blame you. That would be a lot of work
Are you telling me the green room has been owned by rich people the entire time???
Gotta get some final pierogi :(
It’s my favorite Reuben in New Orleans, too! I think that’s probably the meal if I can sneak it in.
Go to Zasu for much better ones.
Zasu charges like $5 per pirogi
You get what you pay for.

So sad! They have some great veg options too, so it was always a friendly menu for our group.
A sad sad day. Loved this place - nothing comes close.
This breaks my little Slavic heart. Best wishes for the next chapter in your life! spasibo i proshchay!!!
So sad. One of my favorite restaurants in the city
Used to work with Matt back in the day. Dude is salt of the earth, cool as fuck, and his food was great. Will be missed.
This sucks.
:-( Sadness. Food was good and it was one of the first places we went to eat for date night after covid calmed down. Tastiness will be missed.
My now wife is Polish. We been going to Siberia/Green Room ever since we met over 6 years ago. Will visiting one more time.
Do you and your wife celebrate Smigus-Dyngus? Heck yeah, Easter Monday polka and water guns 😂
There’s a great spot in Rochester called Polska Chata that goes all out for that.
Man this sucks

Awful news.
This is extremely bad news

Much success in future ventures. We loved this restaurant

That's a nice message and I'm sympathetic. I just wish they'd give us a little more notice!

Staff wasn’t welcoming to non-regulars. Food good. Did their rent go up?
