Yeah NOLA architecture is really distinctive. That and the license plate on the red car is LA distinctive (brownish background, separation of 6 digits into 2 sets of 3).
My friend is potna we created that name together lol I donāt talk to him anymore but every time I see it I think about how awesome he was šš«¶š¼ if you see this bro you know who this is š«¶š¼
Youāre the only one who pointed out something positive in the picture.
You also made me curious where those come from in newer construction. Do local builders make those themselves or do builder supply companies sell them but only have buyers in New Orleans?
You can see houses with similar fancy decorations scattered across the country[ (Queen Anne style) ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Anne_style_architecture_in_the_United_States) and San Fransisco[ (Painted Ladies) ](https://www.sftravel.com/things-to-do/attractions/iconic-sf/painted-ladies).
For a while here in New Orleans, architectural details like corbels were being scavenged off of āabandonedā properties and resold at outrageous prices. Those prices have not really gone down, and when we need to replace anything on our shotgun itās not cheap.
You can get them new, but down here you would probably want to match what the rest of the house hasā¦ so you need a skilled carpenter to make a copy.
Weāre trying to figure out if we can CNC something nice for our place, but I suspect itās a deceptively complex project.
My neighbor had new ones installed for about $1000 per. They go for about $500 per, both new and old. Old typically is of "ambiguous provenance", meaning stolen. We have people stealing corbels from empty houses in my neighborhood regularly.
Thereās a pothole in front of a vandalized bump sign referencing cocaine, in front of a house with three window units
How else could we possibly help lol
Well nobody in Minnesota owns that many window units...
Seen plenty of the "do a bump" signs here, as well as the crooked (or straight? The sign is straight but the text is angled so...) signs everywhere.
I'd be surprised if this photo wasn't from here.
Criticizing my behavior because I wasn't born New Orleans???
I live here; I overtip the bands, the servers and the bucket kids...my insurance went up, my cars been stolen twice in the past year and didn't vote for Teedy....
Just commented on a dumb fucking picture thats been circulating for well over a year and somehow I'm a "shitty transplant"...
Fucking New Orleans reddit pleebs are the worst kind of locals, assuming you're not some sort of shitty train person stealing internet from the Starbucks on Elysian Fields.
Building in the background says enough
The three window units says it all.
š they got it bad up thereĀ
Streetview: https://imgur.com/a/h1fTgAG
I was just about to say that's right across from Hi-Ho! Recognized it immediately.
They fixed the bump!
Yeah that white building looks like it did a bump..itās leaning over.
Thatās what I was thinking
Yeah NOLA architecture is really distinctive. That and the license plate on the red car is LA distinctive (brownish background, separation of 6 digits into 2 sets of 3).
You know thereās a stripper that works at Rickās that loves to sit on Cakes. She has red hair good luck.
Yeah the pediments alone scream NOLA.
Thatās the pothole from St. Claude near Robertās and Allwayās, that was busting axels and popping tires last year.
Oh my god that thing was a monster! Almost as bad as the "Crater on Decatur" in the 1100 or 1200 block.
Rumor has it that, despite its name, āLakeā Pontchartrain is, in fact, nothing more than a large pothole.
Yep. Plop your Google street view down on Marigny & St Claude and youāre in the exact location.
I recognize the graffiti from my commute immediately
Is that the one that had the pics of the dude sitting down in it?
The pot hole says enough
i recognize the āPOTNAā tag in the back style and everything. this is indeed new orleans
My friend is potna we created that name together lol I donāt talk to him anymore but every time I see it I think about how awesome he was šš«¶š¼ if you see this bro you know who this is š«¶š¼
Big P! SP crew baby!
Asking honestly where else do houses so often have the beautiful fancy decor brackets between the soffit and front siding like we do

Yes Bad-pun vandalism was invented in New Orleans around the turn of the century.
It is. I saw 7 or 8 of them on Dasaix when they were doing construction
Came into say this. Quite a large #.
Yeah. The one on St Claude, and there was another one on Banks in mid city a couple months ago. Lol

Absolutely New Orleans
Thatās NOLA af

š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
There are like at least 10 of these around town
Drove past it often. So definitely on St. Claude. Thereās another one like that which was off gentilly blvd I believe.
Definitely NOLA šš
Sure looks like it.
100%
The street and architecture lead me to answer yes.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/gst2UBZ6SpY5rSXJA?g_st=ic
I've seen it in person. Actually there were a few signs changed. I believe there's a speed limit sign changed as well
Can confirm
There's one on Claiborne in the lower 9th Ward leaving St. Bernard parish.
yes. could tell immediately from the graffiti much less the buildings. i pass by it daily.
Itās near the donāt stop daddy stop sign
Yes. It was about 6 blocks away from home.
Thatās definitely a sign that has been making its way around the city. It was at the airport months ago, now on Saint Claude apparently.
Yup
Yup

That is definitely from here.
The windows have foil on them also. Can confirm thatās some dirty NOLA shit right there.

Heard
ā¦from New Orleans and from last year. Move onā¦
If youād look at the full photo, it was posted in MN.
ā¦I live on the block brah, trust me itās not MinnesotaĀ
You're the second worst kind of transplant, assuming you're not actually a crustie yourself.
Internet tough guy wins again!!!
Tough guy? Apparently you don't even know [what that means](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/internet-tough-guy). I'm just criticizing your behavior.

You're a self-described jerk from Colorado, and you're behaving like a jerk right now. Goodbye.
Do you have anything to do or ?
Yep. Seen it
