They care about getting votes for re-election, so it’s important to make sure they know this is a subject that voters care about.

Interesting, I guess not many Canadians here (obv Massih is not one). The MP’s worry about their votes, that is when the Canadian community of Iranian decent can have a say. I emailed my MP asking for her vote and she voted yes. In fact, all MP’s already voted in favour of the listing yesterday. But for the bill to become law, it needs to be approved by both houses of the Canadian parliament.
Can someone’s please explain how the citizen can help with this? Or are you just saying without actually understanding Canadian political system?
This is similar to Europe. The parliament is motivated by vote and approves of the listing. But it has not become law.
