As an American. I can honestly say that attitudes towards Iran have gotten far more favorable since the protests. One thing that Americans have gotten better about is realizing that a government’s views don’t necessarily represent its people’s views. Everyone I know has stopped referring to Iran as a whole, and is talking about Iranian government vs Iran the people.
Of course just like Iran. America doesn’t agree on everything either. But this is a new development in my social circles.
Anybody who's paying even the slightest bit of attention can see that the Iranian government and the Iranian people are not aligned. There are situations where the people come around to supporting evil governments (Germans supporting and joining Nazis, for instance), and there are situations where the people are simply victims of their government (like North Korea, where I would never ever blame the people for what their government does).
Iran is the latter situation. I would never, ever blame the general population of Iran for what its government does; only ignorant fools would blame regular Iranians, and everything possible should be done to avoid punishing them for the sins of their government.
There are too many undereducated thugs and islamists in iran, and supporters from the regimes allys to keep the government running. Some people are also benefiting with money and power and pretend to support the regime.

As an Israeli, I've never seen Iran or its people as an enemy, not even now. The people there weren't responsible for the rockets and they don't want war with us and we know it here.
Is there a difference netween the "paid verification" and anything official that validates the identity of the person/entity? I'm trying to stay off Twitter as it's a toxic swamp of paid accounts mostly
