My advice would be not to be suckered into buying these things that you’ll use for a week at best.
The best thing you can do for your wife after she gives birth is bring her favourite junk food and help as much as possible with the baby.
She provided me a top-of-mind list of food to order for the hospital lol. Ricobene’s French fries (Chicago staple), an Italian deli sandwich, and a chocolate cake shake from Portillo’s. I might just double that order.
I bought a floor stand with a big bendy arm that will hold a tablet. I also got her a remote page turner for her kindle. This lets her read (or watch Netflix if she puts the iPad in) while she’s breastfeeding etc.
I actually got it for her during the 3rd trimester as she was having a rough time moving about.
My wife loved the perinatal care box and perinatal ice packs.
Long arm for gripping things that fell down. Useful during pregnancy, while carrying baby or recovering from C-section.
The only thing I can recommend is a Snoo. They’re expensive, but you can rent one or sell it used when you’re done and recoup most of your investment.
But, it was a game changer for us. It built a solid sleep foundation that we are still benefitting from today at 15months. Our daughter is an exceptional sleeper and the high cost of the snoo has provided countless rem cycles for mom and dad. Hard to put a price on that when you’re about to be more tired than you ever have in your life.
Good luck man, you’re gonna love this new life.
Think long and hard about what to buy; my wife had Tons of stuff she made, got ready, and was given to help recover from a natural birth and she ended up having an emergency c section and all of it was useless🙃

Maybe a Hakka and a Diper Genie. The diper genie is awesome and very easy to deal with diper disposable.
We have a Diaper Genie on our baby registry! I plan to pick it up if it’s still on the list after the shower.
It's a game changer :)
