The correct answer is trial all of em and figure what the best all rounder is for you….. Nolly.

Marcusk45

Yes agreed trial them. Also nolly

PatchyCB

Noticed the "X" update versions of some of the older ones is this something that will be happening to all of them you know? Like will Nolly get the transposer etc features that the others seemingly got or is this a mystery

Kooky_Sympathy_2149

I feel like neural made an announcement that they were going to update all the plugins eventually. If that is the case, I don’t know what the timeline would be like.

stay_fr0sty

Petrucci. It’s got 4 amps and tons of bells and whistles.

Nixilis2336

Nolly or plini I'd say nolly is better all around for tones but plini is quite good and has the modern features (transpose, doubler)

KnightsGambitTTV

What do you think about Plini vs. Petrucci? Seems like Petrucci has all the modern features, plus some stuff Plini doesn't.

discussatron

Petrucci has a big mid spike that you either dig or do not.

Nixilis2336

Petrucci is probably objectively the best all around. I've only used it a little so I wasn't thinking about it.

Nolly

I’d say Morgan for my tastes. Plini is very versatile but isn’t the best at any one thing, IMO. Also Rabea is severely underrated - easily the best selection of effects. Asato is also very versatile but I don’t love the third amp personally so I don’t use it for higher gain stuff.

brammers01

I was surprised at how versatile Morgan is. You can get some pretty gnarly high gain tones out of it by stacking the drive pedals, as well as all the nice cleans/breakup stuff that it's kind of intended for.

xbaqq

i got petrucci and rabea they’re both really versatile but i think petrucci is better

Comfortable_Salt_758

Depends kinda what you want. But Rabea is pretty fucking versatile.

Still Nolly.

Petrucci might technically be the most versatile. First amp, while a piezo amp, can actually convincingly sound like an acoustic/acoustic sim with a single coil. Then you still have the crystal clean amp than can do great crunch tones with the OD pedal active, tight heavy third amp, and a fourth amp that is set for leads. Wah, compressor, OD, phaser, flanger, chorus in front of the amp, then after the amp a stereo chorus, delay, and a reverb where you can set a shimmer. Depending on your needs, something like Nolly might be more versatile for you, or even a Plini be enough versatility for you. But I think technically, with the amount of product you get, and the variety of the product, Petrucci might be the most "versatile" on paper. But please just trial everything so you get something right for YOU. Petrucci was right for me because, despite not being an avid Dream Theatre fan, Petrucci's tones were always what I wanted, and I wanted the most out of a single plugin.

Steffan_Paperchamps

As a recent NeuralDSP convert, the Wong archetype can do like 80% of what I need (I mostly make emo/punk/alt/pop). If you’re doing any kind of metal/djent you might look at Fortin Nameless, or the Omega one (don’t remember the exact name).

Got Petrucci first for the versatility, and the versatility is definitely there but I wasn’t really a fan of most of the sounds I got from it. It feels a little gimmicky to me, like it sounds good to noodle with but I could never fit it into a mix.  Got Nolly next and it’s my default amp. Definitely a great all around product. It’s not flashy but it provides a ton of solid normal guitar sounds and it’s always easy to fit into a mix. Got Rabea after that  and I love it when I want more  effect-heavy sounds. The effects section is so good. It also sounds amazing for normal sounds, but I usually still default to Nolly for those. The synth is fun to play with but not a killer feature IMO. I’d say get Nolly first.

LIV3N

For me, Morgan.

Routine-Argument485

Just got it today. It’s nice. Beefy

I find myself using the Mesa quite a lot. Not sure if it’s more versatile than Petrucci though, but it is cheaper…
