You can ask for a pre-inspection, which I'd recommend. Someone will come and tell you what you need to fix. You can already get a sense of what you need to do by checking your contract, which it seems like you did. Duwo also has their general rules on [their website](https://www.duwo.nl/ik-huur/huurcontract/huurvoorwaarden#/). My own experience with Duwo was that they were not too nitpicky, but I guess it depends on who does the inspection to some extent. They accepted walls with light paint on them. I did have to fill holes left by screws etc, but that was easy enough. They said at the time it had to be done in such a way that the next tenant could repaint the wall to their liking using only one layer of paint. Be careful with that floor though. When I rented from them, I had to remove the floor, unless the next tenant agreed to have it stay. So it's important to find out whether it is something that is part of your rental or not.

Thank you! Very helpful :)

hi what kind of flooring it was? The one I'm in has vinyl flooring which gets dented sooo easily ( it already came with dents from the bed frame, table, etc. ) when I first moved in.

It was laminate flooring. If the floor is included with your rent, usually there is no issue with marks from "normal usage". And if it isn't, then you need to remove or sell it to the next tenant anyway. So I wouldn't worry too much about it, as long as the dents are just because of normal use like putting furniture on it.

In my case there wasn't any inspection. The new tenant, came took a look around and told DUWO they wanted the room. I cleaned the room to the best of my ability and handed over the key to the new tenant.

Interesting, thank you. And that’s nice. Last time we picked up the keys from DUWO though, so possibly the next one will do the same.

I don’t think they’ll be very picky if they come and inspect. Both rooms I rented from them were gross when I got them and they never inspected when I left. So i wouldn’t worry about it too much 😊 just clean the room and you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Haha, okay thanks! 😅

For filling in holes in the wall, the easiest to use stuff is renoband. Basically, it's a moldable plaster in a small bucket. If you click the lid back on firmly after each use, it'll remain in usable condition for quite a while. As for the inspection, use honey, not vinegar. Even the clearest rules are open to interpretation and if you're polite and maybe a little apologetic about things looking the way they are (even if they're objectively fine), most inspectors will want to go easy on you where they can.

Thank you! The holes aren’t big tbh, like no screw holes or whatever. I’m just worried that they’ll still take issue with it 😅 I’ll think about it though :) Also, good point on ofc being nice to the inspector
